Rey can crush him like a tin can or blow him up like that ship, but she has doesn't have the dueling accolades to say she can out duel Greivous, and she has never fought someone like him, so if she goes in for a saber duel, she may get cut up. Her victory depends on if she resorts to the force right off the bat, or ends up using the force mid duel before losing.
Grevious is all about Intimidation, so the chances of Rey seeing 4 spinning blades and saying “Let me swing at that with my Saber” while bloodlusted are slim imo. Rey uses the Force and crushes Grevious
@the_institution: Dude Rey doesn't only know push/pull, she has feats of doing so much more than that
All of that was LITERALLY just fancier applications of force/pull (It's not enough to compete with high tiers)
A weaker version of Vader already deflected multiple blasters at once (8 blaster shots redirected with the force) in the comics and even force pulled 5 guns away at the same time in Rogue One, as well as rag dolling other force sensitives (Rey has never ragdolled a force sensitive) in Fallen Order.
Ahsoka on virtue of not getting stomped and no sold by Vader via force means Rey can't beat Ahsoka with the force and loses to her in a duel.
@the_institution: Ahsoka isn't in this thread and literally everything is a variation of push-pull. I have no interest in debating rn. We're talking in circles
Rey stole Kylo’s lifetime of training in TLJ and then has a year to refine and grow from it . She can’t be unskilled as she’s technically been trained in the blade her entire life
@grinningf0x: @payneintheass: If we're talking about Rey's dueling ability from a legitimate swordsmanship perspective, then yes, Rey's skill with a lightsaber is absolutely abysmal according to medieval experts. But that pertains to the live-action fights only and cannot really count against the actual characters' abilities per the sources. So, as much as I loathe to say it, Rey is essentially an equal duelist to Kylo Ren because of Force Skype.
@payneintheass: In canon only, I think he'd be able to contend, partially because of how pathetic canon Grievous is and partially because Kylo was trained by Luke.
He was responsible for the sword battle scenes in Lord of the Rings
His name is Bob Anderson this gentleman is a legend, Vader was fighting correctly there was no super corography but the way Bob Anderson (Vader) used his lightsaber is correct
This is basically right before Windu crushes his chest in Legends or potentially him in the ROTS Novelisation. Bloodlusted? Grievous blitzes Rey before she lifts a hand.

Rey gets stomped as she needs plot/stage direction in order to win any fight. Without those two factors, Greivous stomps
Another example is her and Kylo against the Praetorian guards. Some ridiculous batshit happens in that fight. It is choreographed in a way to give Rey the advantage despite the fact she would've died like 12 times in that fight. If you rewatch it there is a point where a guard can slice her head open but aims for her lightsaber on the ground instead. Another instance she kicks 3 guards away despite her leg only hitting one lmfao.
@necromancer76: Canon Grievous has outfought Kenobi 6 times, outfought Ventress with a nexus amp, stalemated Maul with a nexus amp, and dismissed him on neutral ground.
He is significantly nerfed compared to his Legends counterpart and he relies mostly on his cybernetic/physical advantages but he is not completely pathetic. He does have a lot of inconsistencies and low showings though. Kylo still would get stomped in pure sabers.
Would be asking too much for hollywood to put actors who are capable of action scenes in an action movie or at least put on someone who understands the subject to create the fight choreographies ...
Rey misses in the basics something essential in any form of martial art is the position of the legs
there is no swordsman in the world fight or train in that ridiculous posture
@void_reborn: He also was unable to defeat Ahsoka on two occasions, even when she was a Padawan, and lost to Gungans. Ventress defeated him and Obi-Wan forced him to flee in many of their TCW encounters. Yes, he's a better duelist than Kylo, but I think the latter can contend based on Grievous' low showings
Rey wins if he appeals to the force of preference by attacking right at the start of the fight now in a lightsaber fight Rey without PIS does not beat anyone relevant if Grievous gets a duel he stomp
Her skill doesn't compare to even the weakest Jedi Grievous fought in canon, she also sure as hell not fast enough to keep up with four light sabers when she was losing against Kylo's Ren's fighting style which is very wide and slow in exchange for hitting harder and greater range.
Until someone can post a official statement on TROS Rey or Kylo being slow or unskilled it will remain a ( rather silly) opinion backed by nothing but butthurt
@bayman007: 1st film she downloads Kylo's training (Which is inferior to Prequel Era training) and beats him while he's wounded
2nd film takes place less than a month after the first and she only trained one day with a lightsaber
3rd film takes place a year after the first. (And she's still inferior to Kylo Ren despite knowing his entire move set)
Collectively she has personally only ONE year and a few days of lightsaber experience at best.
Padawans begin training at the age of 13, Ahsoka is 14 by the start of the Clone Wars and is able to survive engagements with Ventress (A Sith Assassin) and defeat 3 Magna Guards at once while also be considered a prodigy for her age and why she was assigned as the Padawan of Anakin.
Grievous casually stomped Ahsoka in their first engagement, then on their second re-match after two or so extra years of her getting more training and power still made her flee.
Rey is the least skilled force sensitive in canon and will be until she gets more comic feats. So her skill means absolutely nothing to the likes of Grievous.
