Yes, another Superman vs Thor thread, I know how original... But I just happened to search for this battle and I was surprised it had yet to be done, so there's some merit to having it out there.
Superman only gets his feats from Rebirth (Superman: Lois and Clark feats are applicable).
Earth-616 unworthy Thor with Jarnbjorn.
Morals on but determined to win and fighting at the best of their abilities.
Win by death or KO.
Location:
In the middle of Times Square, starting 50 meters / 164 feet apart with perfect conditions, meaning well lit, no rain etc. The Earth, along with the rest of the Solar System, is completely uninhabited. Also, although the Earth is not indestructible, if destroyed it will reform, so there will always be ground to fight on. In case the fight takes the combatants to another planet all other planets and celestial bodies can be destroyed normally without coming back.
The rebirth Superman lowballing is ridiculous. He is way above any mid tier, in fact considering his speed and durability he should be a solid high tier.
Superman is not a mid tier. He would be if we only counted his lower feats. But we obviously shouldnt do that. However he is not a high tier either. He barely has any high tier worthy feats to his name. He currently sits somewhere between mid tier and low end high tiers like Gladiator, Hyperion, BM, and most importantly Unworthy Thor so he should take this fight.
Thor isn’t stomping anything. I could honestly make a case for Superman. Although he is certainly lacking in some categories in comparison to his other versions, he still is very impressive in terms of speed, easily outclassing New 52 and rivaling Post Crisis.
@empressofdread: Can Thor’s lightning even tag Superman. I’d say that Superman has a good amount of feats to show that he could avoid Thor’s lightning as well.
@kanyecosby: Could you show me some feats of Rebirth Superman?I'm not really familiar with him.
Sure. Here are some feats.
Here he perceives the event of Doctor Manhattan taking his mother away, an event which happened in a nanosecond.
There’s also the feat of him moving in femtoseconds and attoseconds, but that’s obviously an outlier and it doesn‘t really make sense as a feat.
Here is a feat by Supergirl who Superman scales to, when she wrote a few quintillion codes in the blink of an eye. That’s a MFTL feat.
Here Barry and Wally are moving at MFTL speeds. They were moving so fast that Steve Trevor had to slow the video by a trillionth of a second just to see them. None of the league are able to see them, but Superman is able to not only perceive their movements, but almost catch up to them in speed, although admittedly Superman himself says they’re moving to fast for him. However this is still a MFTL feat of perception and movement by Superman.
Here is FTL combat speed feat of Superman blitzing an armada from 746 million miles away.
This is either a speed feat or a durability feat. The reason it could be a durability feat is because, the alien is still talking to Superman when the planet explodes. This means that Superman would have still been on the planet when it exploded. If it’s a speed feat, Superman would have had to react to the planet after it exploded and fly away before it hit him, which would still be an impressive feat.
Here he rebuilds the entire moon in seconds. This is a clear cut MFTL feat along with a strength feat, because he would have to be moving many of these large pieces together.
@kanyecosby: The Supergirl one is an obvious outlier but rest of the feats are really impressive and much better than even new 52 had, it's nice to see Superman finally getting some love in Rebirth atleast in speed.
@gaoron: To be honest, I’d argue that Rebirth is even faster than Post Crisis. I can’t imagine Post Crisis replicating some of Rebirth’s feats like the Flash feat or the moon feat.
@kanyecosby: Post crisis had multiple consistent showings at light speed/nanosecond range but yeah the Flash feat is at picosecond range going by the trilion frame per second statement and I don't remember anythink on this scale from post crisis so rebirth could be very well a bit faster but the Flash showing is a clear limit/high end for Superman seeing as he could keep up with them only for a short time.
