Rules/NOTES:

  • Both sides have enough supplies (Food, water, ammo, fuel, etc) to last this battle.
  • Both sides have knowledge on each other.
  • Both sides start from the opposite sides of the city.
  • Purist Forces win by destroying all Demonic forces or until the Demonic forces surrender.
  • Demonic Forces win by destroying all Purist forces or until the Purist forces surrender.
  • Also I am aware the Resident Evil guys aren't actually Demonic but since I don't know any other demonic factions in Scf-fi (Other then arguable the Quake 1 enemies) and since they do look hellish enough I thought I'd add them anyways.
  • And the Resident Evil guys are composed of enemies from Resident Evils 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 (Including the remakes).

If we include the Masque's upper end feats, team demonic stomps via planetary tk. If we do not include this then the purist force stomps due to space marine jocks dunking on fodder. Would be a fun fight to watch and there are enough meltas to make an impact on the marines, but this would only end in blood angel victory afterparty.

Team demonic should win, the SM's put up a good fight, but they can't take on all of them and win.

Avatar image for six-deuce

@jwwprod: I dont believe so, the demonic team has alot of weaponry that can kill a land raider. I would reduce the dreadnought count on purist force and that would help things. This battle would be extremely ferocious...probably the fun nest to watch of any yet. Heck, I would love to see 5 furioso DN fight the Doom faction and eventually go down. OT) could you add in battletech clan forces in your next fight?

@six-deuce: Okay I re-increased the number of Land Raiders and reduced the number of Dreadnoughts.

Battletech is a franchise that does interesting (And I'm all for adding new factions into these threads) but @wut told be it's best not to because he apparently said Battletech clans don't use infantry and mainly only use giant walkers and tanks (If that's not true though could you give me a rundown on the unit types they use through PM?).

Avatar image for six-deuce

@jwwprod: well, the original kerensky method was 3 mech trinaries, 1 infantry and 1 armor. I know different clans have changed this up but as far as I know, infantry and armor are still a part of thier tactics (though they have a higher proportion of mocha than many other verses). I think where ppl go wrong is trying to pit battletech mocha against 40k titans

I think the demonic team has the potential to pull a win, and if these were blood pact then probably would make use of the meltas by swamping dreadnoughts and termies/marines to effect. This crew would be less organized and once enemies with the AP were targeted down, a sizable enough portion of the purist force could romp around with impunity.

@wut: fair enough, that lil bundle o rage might carry them with his library study buddies. Still a 100k Daemon Dance party of The Masque is tough, especially against the non Space Marines

@six-deuce: Do you think a Resident Evil Tyrant would be able to one on one a Space Marine?

Avatar image for six-deuce
#19 Posted by Six-Deuce (1275 posts) - - Show Bio

@decaf_wizard: I know sir, I was specifically referring to thier tactical acumen. I would see a bunch of slaanesh cultists rushing in with thier precious AP and getting gunned down. To kill the terminators and dreadnoughts they would have to distribute and ambush them in the scrum.

Avatar image for six-deuce

@jwwprod: not from what I can tell though depends on the marine. A scout with a chainsword would be a good match, your average assault marine should win without difficulty. A sarge or captain with special weapon would be overkill

Maybe if speed was equal. Space Marines slap bolter rounds out of the air and have weapons actually capable of harming the Tyrant post limiter break. A scout marine with a bolter and chainsword could arguably win, and Scouts don't even have power armour yet

Nah, tyrants could take a couple rounds from the AVERAGE bolter, or a mag or so from a bolt pistol IMO. Resident Evil does have things that could, but only the most powerful

@decaf_wizard: so like a human trying to tank a 9mm? I am not up to date on durability of resident evil then. Back when I played it, everything was killable with a pump gauge shotgun.

@six-deuce: They just brought out the RE2 remake, and the Tyrant is a tough bloke as are Nemesis [Although, even in the third one, the old one, Nemesis types were pretty beast].

Right now, it takes a lot to blow off a Tyrant's limiter and nothing short of anti-tank rockets to put them down. A bolter could manage it but not that easily

Small arms fire will not kill a tyrant. They can take 9mm's to the face, and shrug off shotgun blasts although they will be staggered by them if only temporarily. Id say they are a comparable to Astartes without power armour in durability, but they have a healing factor

Thanks :) But yea the ride (Which is what that theme is for) was awesome, some people (like Expedition Theme Park on YouTube) hate it but I personally thought it was awesome (Granted some parts could have been better), but yea if you live in the UK (Or every go there on a Holiday) I do recommend you go to Thorpe Park (The Theme Park where this ride is) and give Derren Brown's Ghost Train a chance.

@jwwprod: Erm, good fight tbh. I'd prolly side with team 1 because resident evil zombies on a whole are good, and provide good meat shields, but they lack any real leadership and don't really take orders fairly well. The Doom demons also seem to lack in that aspect as well, but they are stronger overall when it comes to the foes they face. If you pitted the res zombies against the doom demons, it'd go either way tbh

Overall though I'd choose first team, better leadership, overall have the gear to win, and the Blood Angels are not bad and are pretty good with h2h combat and cqc combat! Good thread though well thought out!

Blood Angels as in how their chapter operates. In this environment, Imperial Fists would be the better due to it being more of a siege and so on. Angels focus more on melee than anything, its what the chapter specializes in, which is fine cause this will be a cqc and h2h fighting style as most urban styles are :)

Blood Angels not bad? They're Space Marines! Of course they are going to be formidable :P

Thanks anyways :)

Blood Angels as in how their chapter operates. In this environment, Imperial Fists would be the better due to it being more of a siege and so on. Angels focus more on melee than anything, its what the chapter specializes in, which is fine cause this will be a cqc and h2h fighting style as most urban styles are :)

To be honest I was hesitant on weather to use either Ultramarines or Blood Angels in this battle. Ultimately I choose Blood Angels since I like them more.
