@jardinain2: Without the ability the erase people from existence, I don't see how Thawne is gonna beat both Runner and Surfer unless he freezes time in the middle of the fight (which he can do but that is not in character for him). Makkari and Quicksilver are still non factors and are getting killed in a picosecond. I don't care about the final round because the OP did not explain anything about the race.

@jardinain2: Well yeah that is true. When you think about it, he is only a faster than light speedster and is powerful enough to overpower Surfer in energy projection contest and KO him. Impressive but not enough because not only he won't be able to hit Thawne with those blasts but that Surfer wasn't as nearly as powerful as current Surfer.

In other words, Runner is just overhyped and doesn't have feats to put him above non jobbing Silver Surfer. If Thawne is morals off, he could blitz Makkari, Quicksilver and The Runner and then fight Surfer. However I'm not gonna jump to any conclusions because Runner maybe preformed some feats that I am not aware of. To avoid highballing, I'm gonna say Team wins.

@krleavenger: Fair, maybe @mysticmedivh might know more. As I believe he has debated with Runner in the past

The Runner basically has two fights in his appearances.

The first one, without the Space Gem, he shrugged off Surfer's blast like nothing, ran circles around him, and overpowered him.

The second one was with the Space Gem. On paper, his speed should be instantaneous with the Space Gem. Anywho, he easily blitzed Thanos with it. Thanos was pretty helpless. Thanos more or less accepted that he would be blitzed into a pile of purple mush if the fight went on any longer.

@mysticmedivh: His speed actually wasn't affected by the space gem, he just occasionally teleported without knowing it. He thought it made him faster because he'd teleport to some place before he consciously knew he wanted to be there.

Yeah this is an overkill. I mean Silver Surfer, Runner and Makarri? Dude Makarri's faster than light. Thawne would probably have his hands full with Makarri alone. I'm not saying Thane's gonna lose against him but there are three other dudes with great feats. I say team wins. The only thing Thawne could possibly win here is the race at round three.

@cosmic_reign: Yes he can. Fact that he can finish the fight in span of a picosecond is enough to prove he can blitz them. It will take few picoseconds to kill them so this is just yet another Reverse Flash/Professor Zoom vs Silver Surfer thread.

Still not convinced...

I'm struggling to see how Zoom can blitz 3 combatants that are roughly on par with himself speed wise.

Round 1 - Runner or Surfer solo

Round 2 - Same outcome

Round 3 - This is too close to call , but out of the Team members Runner is easily the fastest.

@krleavenger: Man , Runner is easily as fast as Eobard and he has no chance to hurt him or even blitz him.

@cosmic_reign: Yeah I know about that Race , but Makkari tapped to infinite speed (Or Something like that) which the Runner was very shocked to see and eventually lost , but Runner has show to reach that speed in panel (Altough I don't remember the issue).

Runner does not solo. He only has impressive energy projection and FTL speed.

@cosmic_reign: Also the only reason why Makkari defeated the Runner was because he surprised him by making a comeback and pushing himself as far as he could while Runner was full of himself. Runner is faster than Makkari and he is still slower than Jay Garrick or is equal to him at best and Jay is a snail compared to Thawne. So yes, this is just another Professor Zoom vs Silver Surfer thread.

@the_red_devil: Runner doesn't have feats to put him above Jay Garrick speed wise, even less Eobard Thawne (excluding Space Gem feats). Yes Thawne can hurt the Runner. He had no problem shattering Hal's constructs and they have way better durability feats than the Runner. He can also vibrate through him and kill him.

Take it as you will, but a win is a win and the only real context to it was that Makkari pushed himself harder...not like he cheated or anything.

Anyway, Quicksilver is far from being a light speedster, Makkari is a light speedster and Runner is slower or as fast as Jay Garrick, AKA above light speed. That is not comparable to someone who can move in span less than a picosecond and make FTL speedsters look like snails to him. Yes, Thawne has feats to prove he can blitz both the Runner and Makkari. Quicksilver is not even debatable. He is a snail compared to people who are snails to Thawne and is nothing but a fodder. Thawne was able to fight both Bart Allen and Jay Garrick and he stomped them without even trying. Bart and Jay > Makkari and Runner (when it comes to speed).

@watcher5000: He was still slower than light based on his fight with Quasar. Modern Makkari is a light speedster at best.

Makkari produces tachyon particles(hypothetical particles that travel ftl) as a side affect of his extreme velocity...

He's also very durable as he is an Eternal.

As a side effect of his velocity...Perhaps physics can explain this deeper.

Composite Thawne should win, without space gem runner ain't shit, and QS and Makkari and fodder, Surfer is the only threat, and Prof. Zoom>Surfer for a comfortable majority.

He's at best light speed, and thats more current one not the classic version for starters.

Secondly Thawne is way, way to fast to be tagged by either him or quicksilver, and Runner is a good bit ftl with no hax.
