standard Predator from movies with only wrist claws and spear
vs a warrior Na'vi .
1 in a jungle without knowledge of eachoth
2 face to face on a battle field.
Predator Vs. Na'vi (avatar)
" Predator's they're hard core alien killer\hunters where the Na'vi are all a bunch of tree huggers! "cant argue with that
Thats not exactly what I meant
The Reasons Predators are better than the Na'vi
1)They Better tech, if they had all there tech they would curbstomp
2)They Stronger, Pred can Flip tanks and rip through Titanium doors
3)Predators COULD be faster
4)Preds are more durable

" I could actually see the Na'Vi taking out a pred with a poison tipped arrow or something....and I don't even like Avatar. To whoever said that the Pred has better tech, the Na'Vi didn't need tech, tht was the point, they had everything they needed. "The Na'vi had a major and decisive home-field advantage, which negated the guidence and tracing systems of the humans due to the natural electromagnetic interference in the area. It was made clear that the Na'vi would had most definitely lost if it weren't for that.

I think Predators would win too.
That being said, where the hell have you seen them flip tanks? This, I'm very curious about.
And they where getting owned in that part for some time until that awful plot devise with the god controlling all the animals!
" And they where getting owned in that part for some time until that awful plot devise with the god controlling all the animals! "If by "awful plot device" you mean "ridiculously awesome rhinos stomping on mechs and dragons eating mean marines that deserved it", then I concur :P
Yeah I guess, but how come some those same Marines poped up in the second last scene with only broken arms and stuff?
" @Sparda: Yeah I guess, but how come some those same Marines poped up in the second last scene with only broken arms and stuff? "I assume it's probably the ones from the ground battle that fell back after the rhinos showed up/any other non-fatally wounded survivors, if I had to guess.
A helluva lot of marines visibly died in that big action scene. The ones present for the battle were a lot more than the ones that were being escorted off-planet.
remember, the predator doesnt get his tech in this fight.
just the hand weapons i listed.
Navi can use their own hand weapons, no mounts, you can argue whether they should get a bow and arrow.

Yeah, shooting their arrows at ships served they quite well =P Anyway, the "wildlife" saved their butts in the movie, they got stomped when they tried to face the marines.
But in a 1v1, a Predator should take a Na'Vi.
A predator would take this , even without weapons a predator would decimate a Na'vi . Normal predators can handle multiple aliens with just wristblades , they have more feats of strength, speed, durability and endurance then na'vi .
As for tech, in most comics predators are shown to use minimal amounts of technology to take down prey , thus the usage of spears and wristblades ...... i would give this to the predator 7/10
predators are 2.5m tall, extremely strong, aggressive, also very agile (the way they leap from tree to tree) and fast (just read the novels and comics to see their feats, i.e. sprinting as fast as a speeding car in Big Game), add to that the fact that predators have waaayyy better tech than the na'vi and i'd have to say predators stomp
Predators win, they have better weapons, they are more skilled killers and they are just as adept at jungle fighting.
Some people here seem to not like reading. The pred only gets a spear and wrist claws. That's it. No shoulder canon, camouflage, flying discs, etc.
I say the Na'vi wins. They are much larger, meaning they have much better reach, particularly if armed with a spear. They are extremely strong. There's at least one scene where the Na'vi manages to get into the hangar of an aircraft and is easily hurling bodies with one arm. When they shot the marines with arrows, you see them get lifted off the ground and hurled back several feet, meaning the draw strength of those bows has got to be enormous. We also see those arrows pierce the canopies of military aircraft (yes, with a gravity and momentum assist, but it being possible in the first place is damn impressive).
From dialogue, we also know that Na'vi are apparently reinforced with a natural carbon-fiber, and in the words of Mr. Total Badass, "very hard to kill."
I haven't read any of the comics, but based on the first 2 movies, I would say a Na'vi has a notable size, strength, speed advantage. I think toughness too, though probably not quite as much (in Predator 2 the thing took multiple point blank shotgun blasts and not only lived, but kept running around just fine). I mean, the main character in his avatar body took on a mech in HtH and won. A predator took on Danny Glover and got himself killed. I don't see any human, even one armed with a super-sharp handblade, taking a Na'vi in a fight. The predators are just outclassed here.
Good point.
I do not see any human having even a remote chance against a Na'vi in any melee fight.
Glover was fighting a predator that had been shot several times, lost an arm, and was without a breathing apparatus... he had substantial handicaps working for him.
Arnie, fighting an un-injured predator god thrown around like a pillow buddy.
Physically, i think the two species match up pretty well.
Durability might go to the predator. It was taking shotgun blasts, but at the same time, could it deal with the weapons being sported by the security force in Avatar? I don't think the predator would survive the same shots that took out the na'vi in that movie.
8 feet tall for predators
9 min for na'vi, up to 12 feet.
That is the difference between a full grown man and a ten year old.
a lot of posters are acting like the na'vi are completely out-classed here. I don't think that is the case. it would be a good fight.
The predator would rip out the navi skull and would drop it for shame of being to much of an easy hunt.......
One thing that has to be understood is that in this fictional universe the Yautja have been hunting for eons and eons, at least from the time of the dinosaurs (as the skull displayed in AVP Requiem) - that is more than sixty five million years ago. That gives them a genetic advantange, by far. Yautja are extremely dexterous, are lightning quick, have extreme resiliency, and above all, come from a super-advanced technological society that revolves around combat. The Yautja weigh sometimes more than six hundred pounds, whereas the Na'vi are a puny two hundred pounds. And they are a good two feet taller. What does this show? They lack the superior muscle and resiliency the Yautja have. The Yautja can rip the skull of out of a human with little effort, so I see no reason they can't do the same to a puny Na'vi.
Bottom line: if a predator comes into contact with a Na'vi by accident, he will without a doubt throw him around as effortlessly as Dutch got thrown around in Predator 2. The Na'vi honestly stand no chance against by far superior strength, skill, and intelligence. They are a primitive people who have not even discovered science, I might add. Let us compare their statures and honestly make the decision
from appearance. (It is like comparing a veteran marine to a skinny, tall, African boy.)
