It's been a while since I've seen pre-time skip OP.
I know he can body WW, Flash, Cyborg, and Aquman with minimal effort but, Supes might be too much.
According to the guidebook. Superman's combat speed and travel speed are the same. Mix that in with his Mach 900.
I really don't think Luffy is faster than lightning just because he fought someone who IS lightning. Nami and Ussop both dodged Enels lightning attacks are aren't anywhere near that speed
Based off that logic Luffy shouldn't ever be hit by anyone in one piece ever again and yet ???
If Superman fight small levels out of character, I'd say he could win. Superman would need to grab WW and Aquaman's trident to impale Luffy. The speed advantage for DC is significant to the point Puffy would barely be moving.
Heat vision feats aren't good enough to matter. Luffy cannot kill supes, but could maybe knock him out.
Shoes doesn't hit harder than Shadow Island cracking Moria either.
Luffy stomps. The only one he doesn't one-shot is Supes, who he can blitz into oblivion with 2nd Gear.
@alextheboss: Supes never tanked multiple city block+ impacts. Worst case, Supes will be taking dozens and dozens of strikes for every one he lands on Luffy. And Luffy is immune to blunt force on the level he can put out, anyway. He no sold a punch that shattered an island, while half dead.
Luffy should win this.
Anyone but supes is a non-factor.
Supes can't hurt him with punches, given that rufy tanked this^^
I think that their combat speed should be roughly in the same realm(with rufy being faster in G2), but rufy hits harder and is more durable, so guess who's going to win.

I've re-read skypea recently and can't recall usopp and nami ever reacting to lightning.
Enel is only as fast as lightning when he goes into pure lighting form, so rufy fighting him in physical form is not a problem.
And again rufy fails to react to enel's lighting most of the time, only actually reacting when it's pretty choreographed.
So I'd say How the lighting speed is dealt with is fine, tbh.
we've had the same issue with Kizaru, he's not lightspeed all the time, he's lightspeed in light form and his lasers are, and it's fine because people have reacted to him normally but not to his lasers or to his pure light form.
There's this gag feat:
Well, as you pointed out, it's a gag feat.
We aren't counting those, or we should consider nami's punches to hit harder than Moria's Island-splitting ones.

@pierpat: @flashingsabre: Wasn't Luffy amped when that happened or something?
@pierpat: @flashingsabre: Wasn't Luffy amped when that happened or something?
Which feat are you talking about, the island splitting punch scene?
Nah, he had an amp in a part of that fight, but not at that point.
If you check the scene when he's amped he is huge and blue, in that part he's normal.

No.

Nami's lighting is heavily choreographed considering she Calls out the clouds, the clouds get dark etc, so i'd give a pass to khalifa
Don't get the second sentence to be completely honest.

It's someone you know.
@socajunkie: I'd put the Eneru and Kallifa feats down to aim dodging, honestly. Eneru heavily choreographed how he was attacking Ussop and Nami, and during EL Nami needed some pretty long prep time to shoot lightning. I wouldn't put anyone dodging her bolts too high until after the timeskip, when her rate of fire is pretty much instant.

The Eneru showings are and are gag anyway, for Kalifa she had to time it and activate her Devil Fruit before the lightning struck, yes the cloud was in the air but she still had to activate her defenses before she got hit.

To be honest the timeframe isn't too clear, but khalifa clearly understood the clouds where ominous, so i'm more prone to say she started using the barrier before the thunder came given she clearly understood she was in danger and nami basically told her she was going to get attacked.

I view it as her activating it before it struck, it wasn't casual but she could anticipate the strike based on what Nami said and the cloud above her and afterwards we see her in a completely different position; coming out of the ground.
Also, you want a clue?

I basically have the same view on the feat
Op has many inconsistencies but i don't think the lighting timing is one of them.
yeah, sure!
@pierpat: I'm pretty sure we've hit lightning speed with Zeus in the current arc, but we'll need to see where OP goes speed wise.

Oh yeah, being Lighting speed now would not be an issue at all. I already consider Rufy and his tier to be in the double to triple digit hypersonic by now, so hell, that would be an upgrade but not an inconceivable one.
@pierpat: @socajunkie: I mean Luffy couldn't replicate that feat until gear 4 as far as I remember. Luffy just has amazing durability when it comes to blunt force.

What feat are you referring to?
@socajunkie: Splitting the island in half
@socajunkie: Splitting the island in half
Moria did that, later he used that same punch on Luffy with no effect.
@socajunkie: Ya but I'm pretty sure Luffy's durability is greater than his damage output. I don't think Superman would put him down with a punch either.

The point of that feat being brought up was to showcase his durability.
@socajunkie: But Superman still has heat vision and ice breath. Heat and cold work well against rubber.

Neither of which will touch Luffy once he uses Gear 2nd to blitz.
@socajunkie: What proof is there Luffy can blitz? Superman could react tot he flash, and he was able to move as fast as the flash while carrying a multi story building. Also I don't think Luffy has anything that can put Superman down. Luffy could beat the rest of the justice league though.
@alextheboss: Luffy has double digit mach speed at this point. Supes would be a statue.
@flashingsabre: Pretty sure Superman does as well since he was going to race the flash from coast to coast.
@alextheboss: We have no idea how log that would have taken them. Plus, that's travel speed.
@flashingsabre: Either way I don't see Luffy putting him down. Eventually Superman would grab a hold of him.
@alextheboss: And do what? Luffy can't be strangled or anything. Plus, he can just use Third Gear and break free.
