Pre-Ragnarok Thor VS Endgame Thor

I'm inclined to say Pre Ragnarok Thor.

Cap was more impressive with Mjolnir than Endgame was with both Stormbreaker and Mjolnir.

That being said, Thor has trained with Mjolnir for almost his entire life.

Thus,

IW Thor>Pre-Rag Thor>Cap w/Mjolnir>Endgame Thor

Pre Ragnarok Thor wins, was in a better physical and mental condition and wasn't constantly drunk.

Pre-Ragnarok Thor seemed more durable and has better control of lightning. He wins.

Without giving me any spoilers, did they make Thor weaker in Endgame? After buffing him up in IW

Yes Phase one Thor had better feats than Cap with Mjolnir.

EG Thor is getting really lowballed. This guy now has both mjolnir to allow for supersonic to hypersonic flight and hammer attacks. He then has his one-shot Stormbreaker weapon. He also now understands his own abilities to use his lightning to the max.

What's everyone talking about. He wasn't nerfed just lackes confidence and let himself go. He's been through much more trama then the others combined.. Lost, Jane Lost his brother twice, lost his father, had to fight his sister which led to him loosing Mjolnir. Got taken and depowered powerless as a prisoner, Lost an eye, Failed to save Asgard, watched it burn then lost all the other asgardians to Thanos. Then lost too Thanos and the PG, left to die in space, nearly died to get a weapon to take Thanos on Robbed of his revenge on Thanos failed to save half the Universe.....Yeah. I'd be drinking lots of Ale myself.

Kinda for the Gladiator no confidence thing going, but not nerfed otherwise

@destinyman75: thor one shot thanos in infinity war. But not in endgame. Then again thanos also didn't have a weapon. I also found it confusing. I didn't think getting out of shape would affect his power levels since he is a god

EG Thor was very unimpressive.

Endgame Thor 10/10 in a stomp.

Thanos tried to blast SB away with the gauntlet and failed. All he did was shoot lightning and throw the hammer E.G. Thor could replicate that easy

IW Thor destroying ships like a jelly while doing 300+ mph circling around and throwing Stormbreaker back and forth, his stomp can kill 30+ outriders, his Stormbreaker pierce through the beam of complete infinity gauntlet

Human Thor beat EG Thor

Y'all are smoking some good stuff. Everyone crying about how Thor was nerfed or whatnot, but that's not the case, base Thanos is just that powerful. He already beat post-Ragnarok Thor bloody in the opening of IW or did people forget that simple fact?

EG Thor is out of shape and out of his prime maybe but he'd still wreck the other Thors, even IW Thor.

Also, I loved fat Thor, dude actually looks like a proper Viking now, shame he let go of himself but it is what it is.

Also Thanos In end game wasn't holding back IW he was playing testing them...Ma dbe had a weapon...But good point on going through those ships like butter ...Thor didn't ustilize his lightning cloak or any special attack either, again must be the confidence...I think Thor going with the gaurdians is leading to King Thor far more powerful than current levels but he must find himself again first

Not a single person can point to anything indicating that EG Thor is worse than any of his previous versions.

Please point to something from EG other than his belly. Did he or someone else in the movie say he was weaker or a worse fighter in some way? Did he have a hard time breathing during the fight in EG? Did his belly get in his way? Was he on diabetic medication? Did he tell Captain America and Iron Man to go on ahead because he needed a minute to catch his breath?

To me, Thor was just drunk most of the movie and looked bad. But when the fight started, he seemed fine.

Thor 1 is the strongest pre-Ragnarok Thor. His skill during the Jotunheim fight and his use of the Mjolnir powers were never as good in the sequels. It's the only Thor who used weather manipulation. Plus he was more warrior-like and loved to fight. Unfortunately EG Thor was just so weak, I'm sure he's still really powerful but he lost all his skill. He was basically sabotaging the mission to get the Aether, and he helped Thanos take Iron Man out in the final fight lol

Infinity War Thor only got Thanos because he surprise attacked him with a weapon that Thanos had no idea could not only temporarily resist the stones, but also harm him.

EG Thor may have been out of practice, but wielding Stormbreaker and Mjolnir, it made him seem like the most powerful version of himself.

People just really like to wank Infinity War Thor and Hela a lot. It's gotten sort of annoying.

EG Thor is arguably him at his best or equal to it, he’s bloodlust or atleast willing enough to go straight for decaps on Thanos.

He’s as durable as ever he’s as strong as ever.

Has complete control over his lightning post Ragnarok.

He has both of his God weapons which is far greater than being unarmed and provides greater striking and range attacks plus Stormbreaker provides a way of piercing or straight up killing high tier durability characters.

EG Thor absolutely mauls any previous version of himself except IW because he to has the dangerous Stormbreaker.

@finalkingthanos: Exactly. One could argue that EG Thor is rusty and not as physically limber as his younger self. But he's just as durable, likely very close to being just as strong, and far more powerful. Wielding both Mjolnir and Stormbreaker, being the King of Asgard (now truly Odin's first born), mastery of his lightning abilities, regained his confidence with a bloodlust to kill Thanos.

@bobandjim1260: EG Thor doesn't use lightning. Dual wielding Mjolnir and Stormbreaker doesn't mean anything if you can't hit your opponent.

The only few reasons EG Thor can even be wrongly thought of as weaker is -

1. People have the conceives notion of him being fat and drunk all film and don’t realise when he summons Mjolnir again that’s his turning point and like you said he regains his will to not just fight but actually kill Thanos.

2. He actually has to fight Thanos head to head this time it’s not that he’s weaker or Hela was stronger than Thanos it’s just black and white that Thanos is the avengers greatest foe.

3. The Russos sometimes prefer to keep there fights grounded up close and personal so not as flashy.

4. IW focussed on him being the hero to save the day and gave him all the big moments as though only he could stop Thanos only to pull the rug out from under us at the end, while EG focussed on the team as a while in battles and had a younger more serious Thanos not holding back.

The "EG Thor was Nerfed" is literally the most unfounded assumption about the MCU on CV at this point.

Thor might be Slightly rusty, but he definitely isn't weaker or less durable. Asguardians live to be Thousands of years old. A beer gut doesn't diminish the Muscle underneath, and even if it were so, it doesn't diminish the Enchanted gear he wears that bolster his strength and durability. People just assume this is the case because the Thanos he fights in EG is Bloodlusted and not holding Back. An Unbound Thanos is a scary thing, and I can name the characters on One Hand that would be able to take him down in a Random Encounter.

IW Thor >/= EG Thor > Ragnarok Thor >> Pre-Ragnarok Thor.

A fat, out of form Thor vs. not fat and not out of form Thor.

This is kind of a silly question. Other Thor can take mjolnir back from fat Thor's hand and grab Stormbreaker mid-air like Thanos did. EG Thor was in no condition to fight with that belly.

@redshift_bacon: it is not really unfounded, just look at his performance. Thor 1 had more impressive lightning on Jotunheim than EG Thor. It is also a stark contrast watching footage of IW Thor flying through everything, darkening the sky, and tanking ground shaking hits with zero damage. No lightning cloak, minimal use of flying...visibly slowed combat speed. Furthermore the "Thanos was suprised" argument really creates a tremendous low outlier to Thanos reaction speed. There is not really alot of continuity from Thor to Thor to be honest....whether we are talking about how his powers work or his fighting performance etc.
