Plastic Man vs Martian Manhunter
"AtPhantom said:Because Plastic man is idealy suited for beating the martian, that was one of the reasons batman invited him into the league."Plastic man."
Why?"
PM is immune to telepathy, has high degree of resistance to physical injury, and has greater shape shifting powers than the martian.
In fact, when MM turned into a powerful ancient burning martian called Fernus, Plastic man was the only one capable of taking him down. And he took him down hard.

I know that's why Bats put him on, but I wanted to know if he really could do it.
Your argument sounds good.

Plastic Man can be stunned by massive gross impacts and for a being like MM (when he is thinking straight), who is almost a physical equal for Superman, delivering this force should be possible.
Plastic Man can also be temporarily liquified by massive heat delivered quickly, which MM can do via his Martian heat vision.
Additionally MM can fly at speeds exceeded by people only like Superman and has the power of super speed, at a lower version than the Flash obviously, but he can use it in similar ways.
These 2 last powers could enable MM to deposit Plastic Man in to space before Plastic Man could offer any counter, so enabling MM to win by BFR.
Even if MM proved incapable of stopping his opponent or removing him from the field of battle, MM has a high degree of invulnerability and can render himself invisible and intangible - so Plastic Man could not hurt him.
At the worst for MM, the fight would end in a stalemate.

It's probably a grimace of pain as someone just asked him if Plastic Man was the greater hero......

Indeed
Well, I'm gonna have to go with 'JLA:Trial By Fire' on this one; considering Patrick was giving Fernus a run for his money, Manhunter in base form probably loses this one.
@atphantom: which comic did plasticman take down mm bc i wanna read that plasticman is my boy lol

He didn't take him down he stalemated him. It was in JLA: Trail by Fire. It's a pretty good story IMO, although Plas doesn't get involved until the end.

I know this is an old thread, but I just want to point out that Plastic Man did not defeat Fernus. He temporarily held his own against him (only because he has a resistance to telepathy). Scorch put out the fires and Martian Manhunter himself broke out of Fernus, and then Atomised him with Martian Vision.
Plastic Man would get stomped unless he has gotten some massive upgrade he does not hang at this level.
The idea that he is nearly impossible to kill isn't really relevant, he can be defeated
Plastic Man. He has shown to be effectively immortal and has defeated a burning before.
Plastic Man got defeated by white martian easily. Was kod and remained kod until he was rescued. MMH can also use his martian vision here.
Mismatch. The fight with Fernus doesn't change Plastic Man's generally terrible track record against Martians.
@algorhythm511: TP might not work he has resisted once. From a more powerful version of Martian.
Plastic Man
LOL how. How is he beating MMH, he got kod so bad by white martians.

MMH can't really do much to him while he can certainly do a lot to him

prove what he can do. MMH can pretty much just one shot him.
@empressofdread: how can MMH oneshot him?

using Martian Vision.

He's got Martian vision.
Contrary to popular belief; It isn't just a version second-rate heat vision(in fact it's stalemated/counteracted it). Martian vision disrupts down to the atomic-level(and can even hit intangible opponents). It's what he used to end Fernus, who needless to say was giving Plastic Man all he could handle physically.
In addition to the instance shown above by EmpressOfDread, a White Martian(noted as they are individually, or collectively, borderline laughably inferior to Martian Manhunter) oneshotted Wonder Woman with it, as well.
I am so sick of Plastic man’s appearance in the Trial by Fire run perpetually being grossly mischaracterised.
1. He did not beat or stalemate Fernus - not even close. He was used as a surprise tactic because he’s immune to TP (in that story) and engaged Fernus physically with superior shape shifting whilst ALL the other heroes simultaneously attacked.
That STILL didn’t stop him. At one point, Plastic Man, WW, Supes, GL and Faith physically attacked whilst Mister Disaster and Manitou attacked on a spiritual plane. Oh and Aubrey (Scorch) was attempting to steal his fire. Still didn’t stop him. Only when on top of all that when Martian Manhunter himself broke free from inside and finished him off with Martian Vision was Fernus done. What saved plastic man and every other hero on earth was Fernus’ cockiness. Batman literally stated ‘the only reason we are alive is because it wants to keep us alive’ during an earlier encounter on the watchtower. Plas wasn’t there but had he been serious, after dropping the league the rest of earths heroes would have easily fallen.
2. Maalefaak easily (really, really easily) incapacitated Plastic Man and he’s just an inferior MMH
3. White Martians one shotted Plastic Man with Martian Vision and they're likely vastly inferior to Maalefaak
