@wabubub: Post timeskip Akainu is completely featless. Being granted a higher military postion doesn't automatically make you stronger.
Akainu is also at an age where many high/top tiers were in their Prime. Doesn't sound likely to me that he got stronger since then.
He may be stronger as an possible later antagonist but unless there're strong narrative hints or clear statements and feats that say otherwise, I don't see why Akainu should be any stronger than he was during MF.
@emperrorafo: You're the only one who I've seen is talking some sense about this, so many others think that Akainu is now magically Pirate King level in power or something just because of his new rank.

Basically this.
OT: Yeah, Roger wrecks.
@emperrorafo: He is stronger since Marineford because we're not retarded and can follow a story. If One Piece has surprised you at all in the writing department then you might actually be challenged. Akainu has been built up as a wall to be overcome. Now that Luffy has took down Kaido Akainu and Blackbeard are his next biggest hurdles. Because we're not dumb and know how writing works. It is just a matter of time until he gets the feats to back it up. Hence the for now.

Pure speculation. Not much happened around Akainu at all. He build stronger marine forces but that's it. Akainu is a possible candidate but noone assures that he the final villain and even if so, he hasn't to be the strongest.
As I said, it may be possible but so far I didn't see anything that convinces me he got any stronger since MF. His age is just another thing. Many here seem to use a more powerful version of Akainu in such discussions when it is in fact too early to do so.
EoS Akainu will beat Roger
How will he get a massive power up? He's now at the age where he should be getting gradually weaker. Something specific would have to happen.
@mortein: His Final fight with Luffy will happen and by that time Luffy will be Pirate King level
That is far from confirmed. And unless we specifically see him getting some massive power up somehow, the anticipation of that fight will be unexciting, as everyone will expect Luffy to beat him up with low to moderate difficulty.
But I don't see any potential power ups for him. He's already in his prime, or maybe slightly passed it, he already has a strong DF, he's already a Haki master.
I just don't see a place for growth for him, and I think it would make more sense for him to fight Sabo who's Ace 2.0, as it would be sort of a rematch.
@mortein: Luffy will Fight Akainu in the final stage of the Show I promise you the all point of him killing Ace is for Luffy to Avange him beside Oda already stated Akainu could had being The Pirate King with in a year if he was a Pirate
Sabo by the way can never beat Akainu as Akainu himself said Fire will never beat Magma so that’s a rap.
But what kind of a sensible power up will he get?
@mortein: The power of the plot will always do the trick
@godlike_warrior: here's the thing, the plot requirements for the final villain is for him to seem invincible, to appear significantly more powerful than a PK Luffy. The plot is supposed to make the readers think Luffy has no chance of winning.
With Akainu, most readers think even current Luffy can mid diff him, so even if they are wrong about this and it turns out Akainu is somewhat stronger than anticipated and manages to put up a decent fight, the build-up to the fight still won't be exciting.
So he either needs to get an explicit massive power up that makes sense, or he won't be the final antagonist.
I just don't see much room for growth from him.
Either way high diff people act so delusional Akainu is the single strongest force the marines have.
He will also massively out scale his marineford self considering the power scale jumped so much sense then

When you take a look at what kind of an army Luffy might be able to gather at the final war, it becomes clear that Akainu will be no more than just one of the participants.
There's his crew and a grand fleet, and his alliances, revolutionary army, armies of all the countries he has saved, maybe even Shanks pirates, maybe even Buggy's pirates, Boa, remnants of WB pirates, Garp
That's 10 characters who are or will be on the admiral level or even potentially above it, who might be on Luffys side during the final war.
Luffy, Dragon, Shanks, Mihawk, Sabo, Zoro, Garp, Law, Kidd, Sanji
And there would also be dozens of characters who are close enough to the admiral level, that they would be able to put up some fight against them, maybe even beat them if they team up, Like Marco, Yamato...
The Akainu's presence will simply not be overwhelming enough compared to everyone present, for him to be the final menace of the story.
Additionally, most people think even current Luffy is much stronger than Akainu, and he's likely to get far stronger during the last few arcs of the story
On the other hand, WG is not dependent of the Akainu. They have 180 countries under their control, all with their armies, generals, heroes. We have seen how easy it was for WG to get GB and Fuji, seemingly out of thin air.
And obviously, Akainu's bosses, the Gorosei, and their boss Im-sama. Those guys are probably beyond the standard OP power levels.
Roger mid/high diff. Its really simple scale characters from old WB, Luffy or Akainu should be around that now
Roger claps him with low difficulty at worst.
Roger easy. Akainu lost to an old Whitebeard who had been shot and stabbed atleast 20+ times
Roger stomps
Roger should win based on scaling to Prime WB.

For some reason Akainu didn't fight Shanks and Garp was confident that he could kill him.Akainu easily clashed with a calm Whitebeard but an enraged Whitebeard nearly knocked him out. Rayleigh said, Blackbeard could probably beat him by now. Rayleigh also said he is 100x stronger than pre timeskip Luffy. Shanks one shotted Kid and Kaido one shotted Luffy in the beginning of Wano. Akainu one shotted Ace *important cause he is the closest thing we have to someone with Gold Rogers potential.
So prime Gold Roger should mid diff him after all Haki becomes stronger by clashing with others Rocks > Garp = Whitebeard = Sengoku > Shiki > Akainu.
