Though fight, Sentry has better chance to win, but he has to do it fast. If he won't, Orion would shoot him down - sooner or later.

Reasonable enough , i have read good 100 odd issues with Orion, read thru a few CaV involving Orion as well as most of Orion vs thread on battle forum. I consider myself reasonably versed on Orion.
This is Orion as much as i like Sentry as the ture Superman of Marvel Followed by the Gladiator and Hyperion. The winner of this battle is Orion . He is not a slow Character He is fast strong and when enrage the fight is over pretty quick .
@the_titan_lord: Orion beat and killed his father Darkseid. Beating is one thing, killing is an entirely different situation.
PLEASE apply context. DS was not killed by Orion at all. Orion expected his father to defy the rules of their deal and so did so himself and used the Astro Force to protect. Knowing he would do that DS only cast the omega beams of teleportation and appeared to die. Not really much of a feat now is it.

There are numerous ways Sentry could defeat Orion. One for example would be mind rape. For most new God's their mother box's TP would protect them from such, unfortunately Orion's MB is busy using this ability to keep his rage in check.
Go on tell me how much I ( one of the CV members most known for their knowledge on DC god's mystics and skyfather level beings) doesn't know enough and destroy your cred for ever more on here in relation to DC skyfathers.

Sentry isn't winning any fights via telepathy of all things. He's literally only used telepathy once in a fight, against the Super-Adaptoid Yelena Belova, and there was context to that (she'd emulated his Void and he was able to manipulate that part of her mind as a result). Generally he's just not experienced enough to use telepathy in an offensive manner. Most of it is just reflex or the Void, and in both versions of the showing where he mindwiped the world, someone or something else was doing the work for him. The sole exception is when he was messing with Thor's head recently, but that's a different version of Sentry with the Death Seed. I doubt that was what the OP had in mind when he made this thread 4 years ago.
It was also never retconned in Ostrander's MMH that New Gods were immune to telepathy. During an Apokoliptian attack on Mars, the Elite and the Parademons had come prepared to block Martian telepathy. Years after that, J'onn was manipulating the minds of New Gods like Grayven without a problem.
@citizenbane: Sentry somehow forced Paul Jenkins, the comicbook writer, to writer comics with him so world can remember his legacy, i suppose that counts as a telepathic feat. He hasnt used TP in a fight.

Apart from telepathy what wrong with the idea of beating Orion in a normal slug-fest , feats would suggest they are fairly close although number of feats from Sentry are limited (doesnt mean they arent as good).

Define 'prepared'. J'onn's mom says something like "We've been unable to read the minds of those from Apokolips". The fire nets didn't come out immediately.
id like to return to this thread nd make note of Orion's extreme durability. In issue 4 of "New gods" he ws strapped into Desad's machine that extracts the Anti-life from people. It shows Desaad using it effectively on an unnamed new god and breaking him. Then displays Desaad trying the same thing on orion and orion actually putting Desaad into a coma. This displayed both physical and mental durability as the expierience was described as follows:
"...his brain is expanding, his heart contracting and his blood crusting with ice. disconnected with reality he is dosed with pure terror. brought to the brink of death, again and again, his will to live is shredded--and calloused into a rock-hard will to exist, nothing more...mentally the recruit clutches desperately for something to hold on to....but all there is, is darkseid."
so i think "mindrape" and a "slug fest" are out of the question

Yeah Orion is extremely tough and can also resist things like transmutation. The Astro Force + Mother Box are a very powerful combination.
Do the math. Plain and simple. Sentry fought World Breaker Bulk to a standstill. Sentry also destroyed Molecule man. Sentry is ABOVE. Orion has matched Superman and beat Darkseid who has been beaten by Superman. CLEARLY Sentry is top dog here. Plane and simple!
siriously! how can you think anyone can defeat sentry. did you ever play marvels future fight, sentry is extreme powerful hero. superman does not have any defense opposite to magic this is a weakness. but sentry does not have any weakness.
