@gxrevs06: I thought Gae Bolg had to actually hit the target to activate its anti-healing effect? I mean, correct me if I'm wrong (I don't know much about the Fate series), but would the effect really take place if the Spear never damaged Aokiji anyway?

@full123: If we equalise magical energy and haki then it would work anyways. Servants are also capable of turning intagnible and become immune to physical attacks but still gets affected by magical attacks.

Gae Bolg has to pierce the heart. I don't see how that would work on a Logia.

A good energy attack would vaporize Aokiji regardless. Ea should do.

And it does exactly that through causality manipulation. Logias have hearts as shown in the Law vs Smoker fight. The thing with Gae Bolg is that it switches "cause and effect" around to "Heart Pierced" > "thrust". The moment Cu calls it's name it, the lance piercing the opponent's heart has already been predetermined. This is why even Cu's death, for example, would not stop the Lance from piercing the heart. Heck, even Fragarch, which manipulates causality so that the user will always attack first, could not stop Bazett from being pierced by the spear. The only way to avoid it is by having extremely high luck or by stopping Cu from activating it`alltogether

The spear ensures that the target's heart is pierced by reversing "cause and effect". It bends the rules of reality by making it so that the heart being pierced comes before the thrust of the lance. Even if Cu did not thrust the Lance itself, it would still magically appear in the victims heart. Here.

Since the target was already hit by the spear, the opponent would always be hit regardless what kind of evasive maneuvers he took.

In order to evade Gae Bolg, one would require Noble Phantasms that automatically resurrected the target after death like that of Berserker's, or a high degree of Luck sufficient to negate the curse of the spear.
