@xandrew1017: Wasn't that a small planet though? As in smaller than Mercury?

The planet changed size from Saturn sized to Earth sized to small enough to fit inside a city.

However the writer of the episode clarified that Apokolips was always Saturn sized and that "any discrepancy in size is due to VFX issues". When he said he wanted it to be "menacing in space", its refereing to when we see it go by Saturn. This means that is it's true size. The in universe explanation he gave was that it was an "optical illusion". So it was appearing smaller than it actually was.

@frozen: Finally some clarification. Some use the scene where it hovers on top of the city to lowball him. Even though in the same episode it appears in three different sizes.
