Erm, pretty sure they all go down. If Galan's helmet cracked like that, everyone else is either dead or out cold/comatose.

One shots the first 6, you could make an argument for Thanos tanking it.

Idk man, I think Uatu in gonna go nigh-night, even if for just a short bit after a hit like that. Why do you think he isn't getting KO'd?

@rockette: Cuz he didn't get KO'd when he had the Rogue Watcher throw "a thousand planes of reality" at him, a single headbutt from Odin ain't gonna cut it

Also, his head's really big tbh

I though Rulk knocked some Watchers out? Pretty sure Odin >> any version of Rulk.

Avatar image for professorrespect

@rockette: That was omega PIS Rulk, AKA when Loeb was writing him and made him far stronger than he would be when anyone else bar him was writing the character. even fodder Watchers are described as being around about the power levels of Odin and Zeus in established databooks going back decades. Unless you think strong mid tiers can knock out Skyfather dudes, it's obviously not consistent.

Uatu obviously isn't a fodder Watcher, and he actually has.....feats and stuff.

On what basis? Big G was ko'd and fell all the way to earth and laid there for a while before getting up.

@spambot: On the basis that I already gave a feat to prove that Uatu could take it without being knocked out, and you must have missed it while you were looking, I'll give you a sec to find it

I did see it but its very vague and doesn't distinguish if it was a physical attack or not. So on that basis I have no reason to think that his physical durability would be above that of Galactus who has tanked all sorts of attacks without being ko'd.

@spambot: I mean, he got hit with the physical force of a thousand realities, he even staggered back for a bit cuz of the force itself, but he didn't get KO'd.

Until you can show me something close to a thousand realities being pressed down on someone from big G (which I know his feats a bit- he doesn't have anything from my knowledge) then I'm sticking with my answer.

A thousand realities is still a vague feat imo. If you could show the scan then it would help to try and determine its full meaning. Its the sort of hyperbole a writer will often pull out of their ***es whenever they feel like it and yes hyperbole is a thing. I can't buy Uatu having universal+ durability based on that sort of feat.

It's not really. It's the force of a thousand planes of reality. That's as clear cut as can be.

If you could show the scan then it would help to try and determine its full meaning.

By the words "battered" and the fact that energy is literally slamming down on Uatu, it's a pretty good feat to show how much power he can take and still keep going.

Its the sort of hyperbole a writer will often pull out of their ***es whenever they feel like it and yes hyperbole is a thing.

Hyperbole is a thing, but in this fight, it was pretty much established that the Rogue Watcher was powerful, and capable of bending space and time to his own benefit.

I can't buy Uatu having universal+ durability based on that sort of feat.

I mean, rookie Watchers were making pocket universes casually using their own energy.....and Uatu ain't a rookie.

That isn't the energy of a thousand realities according to the narrator though. Its energy from a thousand realities. Its a decent feat but it doesn't show he would definitely withstand the same feat that ko'd big G.

@spambot: So Odin can hit harder than the energy of a thousand planes of reality slamming down on someone at once?

Again you are misinterpreting what was actually said in the panel. It says energies from a thousand planes of reality which could mean just about anything. It doesn't mean the full energy of a thousand universes or something like that. That's not what it means. It just means energy from a thousand different planes of reality which is very vague in terms of how powerful it would be. We don't know what planes of reality or how much energy.

@spambot: Yeah, energy from a thousand planes of reality all at once, can Odin hit harder with a single headbutt

yes or no

@thirdeev:

  1. Wonder Woman
  2. Hal Jordan
  3. Silver Surfer
  4. Superman
  5. Immortal Hulk
  6. Darkseid
  7. Thanos

I like Hal and i really like Surfer and normally i'd put them above guys like Superman or Immortal Hulk in terms of who can beat who, but when it comes to who can tank the headbutt better there is no way either Hal or Surfer can take it better than Superman or Hulk. Hal doesn't have the best record against blunt force trauma i mean Superman recently gave him a concussion and Surfer literally got his forehead caved in by Thor headbutting him, Odin would cave in his whole head. What i am saying is Hulk(him in particular because of his damage soak and healing factor where he can even lose his entire head and still stay conscious) and Superman are better built and have better feats of tanking blunt force attacks(although to be fair Odins headbutt was not just pure physical there was some magic/energy involved as well).

Avatar image for thirdeev
#44 Edited by Thirdeev (242 posts) - - Show Bio

@underfire47: I agree on the Surfer part but the reason I pud Hal so high was due to his forcefields. GL forcefields in general have been pretty decent in the past.

Avatar image for underfire47
#45 Posted by Underfire47 (274 posts) - - Show Bio

@thirdeev: Eh i found them to be inconsistent at times and their best feats are against energy attacks, forcefield around Hals body would certainly help but not that much IMO, the whole point of getting KO'd is that your brain gets rattled back and forth inside your skull, IMO Superman and Hulk have a better chance staying conscious during that, in fact i know they do because both have feats of tanking physical attacks beyond what i have seen Hal tank.

@underfire47: Superman in general has better blunt force durability than most on his tiers.

Avatar image for underfire47
#47 Posted by Underfire47 (274 posts) - - Show Bio

@johnsmjs36: Yep i am kinda split between Superman and Hulk on who has better durability to blunt force, i would say Hulk only edges him out because of his damage soak and healing factor.

Avatar image for johnsmjs36

@underfire47: Superman is a bit harder to damage with blunt force. Knocked Out yest but physically damaged not. Hulk can take a good beating and his regeneration helps but when it comes to tanking an attack Superman does it better. In Post Crisis Superman tanked the collision of New Genesis and Apokolips and was only knocked out for a few moments after they exploded with him in the middle of it. N52 also has feat of surviving multiple blackholes after he took out Brainiacs ship.
