@socajunkie: MK Raiden is certainly not getting stomped by Ryu Hayabusa since he's a god but still not superior to the Nightmare of SoulCalibur that Taki is the only character who has managed to evenly fight him without any enhancements unlike Sophitia and Astaroth who had been blessed by the Olympian Gods, Siegfried and Algor who used Soul Calibur which was a sword specifically designed to counter Soul Edge whose essence is the source of Nightmare's manifestation or Soul Edge's former owner Cervantes and his daughter Ivy who are empowered with a shard of Soul Edge.

I fail to see how Street level - Building level characters could harm him, much less "stomp" him.

Also, his power alone elevated LiuKang into a God who pretty much stomped a character that could easily grow as large as a planet, and then defeat a goddess much more powerful than that.

@cramem: Isn't there a comicvine rule banning excessive violence like Mortal Kombat's? Anyway can you rank Raiden, Taki, Ivy Valentine and Black Orchid? Raiden's speed is only figuratively as fast as lightning since he's using it. Metal Gear Raiden and Taki could very well be faster than Mortal Kombat Raiden but definitely not Ryu Hayabusa.

Raiden's telekinesis reminds me of Starkiller who was a guest character in SoulCalibur IV alongside Darth Vader and Yoda.

He was always this strong. The Raiden we see during all the MK games is a Raiden that's restricted within the rules of Mortal Kombat by the Elder Gods. And even then, he still accidentally kills fighters like Liu Kang.

If he's not restricted, then he's pretty much Planetary. Raiden giving Liu Kang his powers amped Liu to such a degree that he easily beat Cetrion. A goddess who can casually grow the size of a planet.

@lambsauce: that's a lot of scaling and ABC. Raiden is far from planetary and he hasn't been restricted for two games. Liu kang died because the electricity reacted to his fire.

Centrion cannot casually grow to the size of a planet. It's simply a gameplay move not supported by her actual feats. Let's not forget God Liu Kang had a decent amount of trouble with The revenant Kung Lao, Jade, and Kitana. By his own feats and merits Raiden is street level at best extremely low mid.

And I disagree regarding Statment about Shinnok, the same one who lost to two different street levelers. The shaking the planet is nothing more then a hyperbole.

He's the same raiden, He's got a few statments that would stay he's above street but their just that, statements that are never backed up by what we see. His best feat is taking on an Army of Fodder but his stats are still street level, and his Lighting is impressive but he has 1 to 2 feats at best of him doing anything with it that we haven't seen from characters like Black Lightning or Electro.

@lambsauce: Normally threads use restricted Raiden unless stated otherwise in which case his stats are street level.

I mean... Raiden fu*king suplexed a metal gear in his weaker suit... That's not something to gloss over ya know? But i don't know if some of those other guys have some feats exceeding that kind of strength.

Speaking of exceeding, Raiden is also monstrously fast. Even in his weaker suit he was still statuing supersonic to hypersonic missiles and using them as stepping stones to travel towards the firing metal gear, he also ran down the entirety of the metal gear's body length while shredding the whole thing during it was still falling down from the suplex he gave it.

Then Raiden got a major amp of a body after he got rekt by Sam on the train, after he did all that metal gear fighting.

@olajoe1: Is Taki's body better than Ninja Gaiden's armor, Mortal Kombat's lightning and Metal Gear Rising's cybernetic enhancements? No it's her weapons, as with all SoulCalibur characters, which contradict Tekken where Heihachi's use of lightning is so similar to Raiden's in Mortal Kombat. I think he was a perfect addition to SoulCalibur since the other mainstream Tekken characters, specifically his father Jinpachi, his son Kazuya and his grandson Jin Kazama are all reliant on the Devil Gene, but due to both video game franchises being so similar as they are sharing the restrictive boundaries of the fighting genre while being developed by the same Namco company, replacing Heihachi with a character such as Dante would be the more profitable choice considering that Tekken got Negan alongside Jeffrey Dean Morgan as well as Final Fantasy XV while SoulCalibur had Star Wars and Link.

@mr-otaku: Taki defeated a weakened Nightmare who can beat a weakened Algol whose controlling the planetary level forces of the Astral Chaos. She can also outrun explosions. She might not be superior to the other characters but she's definitely not weaker. Ryu Hayabusa is fast enough to dodge missiles while his strength can match giants as tall as skyscrapers. Mortal Kombat's Raiden can grow vastly more powerful when unrestricted. Theresfore, veryone but Metal Gear's Raiden can fight foes that could destroy Earth but they're not as powerful as them since they're using specialised weapons and taking advantage of lucky situations so the skills and versatility of Metal Gear's Raiden could allow him to fight on par with the other three characters.
