New Tourney Type Sign Ups: Live Action Team battle

New Tourney Idea!!!

So, as some people may know, I make it my mission to make fun, enjoyable threads that are semi (if not) new to the Vine.

This new one I've been working on should be really fun and exciting. You will need to assemble a Live Action team of characters, numbering from 5-7. Ideally, youre teams will have a theme. If you're team does have a theme, you will get a bonus. If you're team is an actual team, using all characters who have teamed up previously, you will get a max bonus. for example, if you picked Team Arrow (GA, Spartan, Canary, Speedy, Arsenal, White Canary) you would get a major Bonus. Bonuses vary, but you will have some say in what you get.

Character Selection

Your characters must fit in the following:

• Strength must not exceed in excess of 15 tons. EDIT - This includes TK.
• Healing factor must still allow them to be KO'd or killed.
• Speed cannot exceed casual bullet timer.
• Travel speed can exceed Mach 3.
• Durability cannot exceed city block level destruction.
• Telepathy is limited to mind reading only.
• HAX will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
• This is Live Action only. Comic tie in's will not be allowed (Subject to change).

The way the Tourney will work

Users will select their teams, and be matched against another users team. The winners from the first rounds will then move on, facing a Scenario round, where they must debate against the other team members as to why they're team will survive the round. The team that voters believe did the worst will be eliminated. The team that voters believe did the best will get a bonus. These will continue until there are only two teams left, who will battle it out.

Signup & Match Rules

• Please be courteous and respectful
• Please don't cheat or break character limits
• There will be no post count limit, but you will need to provide evidence of your legitimacy if you are under 1000 posts.
• Please no drop outs. If you do drop out, your credit with my tourneys will be damaged. If you have dropped out of past tourneys, you may not be allowed to enter.
• 4 days max to make a post. Any longer, you will be provided a provisional 4 hour last chance (you only get one) then you will be eliminated.
• Voting will last for 5 days.
• No double ups on characters

So yeah, I think this will be a load of fun. No numbers limit, we'll just play it by ear. Enjoy :)

@spector_rand: So we can choose 5-7 characters? How much of a theme would work? Would Tie-in cartoons count? Composite Actors?

@DedmanWalkin: Yeah 5-7 characters.

Thematically, the stronger the link the better the theme.

If your theme is "Male Characters" or "Hero's", its a low level bonus. If it's a type based theme, like "Spies" or "Mages" its a bit better, ever increasing until you get to actual teams.

Tie in cartoons won't be allowed, yet cross actors is ok.

@spector_rand: Composite Actors are allowed?

@DedmanWalkin: If you mean, two different characters played the same version of the same character in the same universe, then yes (Like Spartacus or War Machine. If you mean two different actors played two different versions of the same character in different universes (Arrow Green Arrow vs Smallville Green Arrow) then no, that wouldn't be allowed.

OR, if you mean Composite Sylvester Stallone then no, thats not allowed either, purely because it eats up a lot of characters.

@spector_rand: Is teamwork a major factor? Or does my team automatically get along?

@serpinethegreen: Sweet, just reconfirm this is Live Action feats only and no TP.

HAX was stated to be done on a case by case basis. Considering they are all live action, I think HAX should be ok, so long as TK limits don't exceed the max.

Only thing I'm wary of is Kylo's force freeze attack, they may be an issue.

@spector_rand: @serpinethegreen: What are the limits on TK, cause if physical strength taps out at 15 tons I'm thinking TK should be the same: Dooku, Yoda, Palpatine...these guys seem like too much.

Force Freeze isn't an issue, he only used it up close and on characters, who didn't really have any strength feats up to that point.

Teamwork itself won't be an issue no, though as stated picking teams that already work together yields benefits.

Yeah TK limits are also the same. If they exceed the TK max then they cannot be used.

The Atom has no speed feats greater than Mach 3.

Terminators are super strong but none of them are above maybe 2-3 tons at most. He wedged himself in the door, that is a durability feat not strength.

Blackout was a much bigger and stronger Transformer than Stinger and he was taken out by F-22 Raptors who generally don't exceed City-Block level destruction. Stinger is roughly analogous to Bumblebee in strength and Bumblebee's only strength feat is lifting a box truck which is under the limits. For the most part Live Action Transformers generally have about 5-10 ton strength based upon size.

Ummm, a roughly mid level one. The two halves of your team are diametrically opposed however they do come from the same universe. If you had all Jedi or all Seth it would be greater.

Also, Palpatine, Dooku and Yoda's TK have been called into question due to strength limits.

@spector_rand: @serpinethegreen: To be able to shake a building the way count Dooku did? That has to be more than 15 tons of force. Maybe I am wrong, but that looks like a lot. If not, then I guess they are cool. I'm only asking, not out right demanding they be moved.

My fear is that when the feat is brought up or in the minds of voters they will be like: DAMN he's too powerful, he stomps.

What puts those things above 2-3 tons? I mean cars only weigh 2 tons (which means Palpatine should be capable of lifting 7 of them at once)

Yeah the car thins is a valid point, Yoda makes them look larger than they are haha.

@serpinethegreen: I'm no mathematician or scientist, but in order to lift something and toss it, it takes a lot more force than the actual weight of the object. In order to lift a 2 pound object, it would take more than 2 lbs of force and so on.

@lukehero: @serpinethegreen:Since he lifts them slowly, then is throwing them downward, it may not actually require much force. He's only lifting them slowly, then using downward momentum to throw them at speed. I think they're all good.

Could we get an idea of what kind of bonuses are up for grabs? I'm deciding whether (or not) I should make a weaker team for a stronger bonus.

Would this qualify for the High Bonus?

Also, I don't want to be that guy, but I've debated with CW Atom a couple times and he's well above 15 tons. Feats like ripping a Titanium Composite Jet in half and punching straight through 2-3 feet of industrial concrete are 20-30 ton feats, and that's being generous.

Firestorm would only allow one version, but otherwise looks good. You'd have to pick either Ronnie or Jax.

yeah you would, but Flash would remove the bonus (and is too fast).

Don't want to be "that guy" but Barakapool can't die. If you watch the end of Xmen origins (no one will blame you if you didnt) you'll notice Barakapool opening his eyes DESPITE being decapitated.
