I have not finished Fairy Tale. So I don't know all of Natsu's powers.

Natsu's in FDKM vaporised an entire lake in seconds and his flames were hot enough to melt stone. He takes this high diff, largely due to AOE and DC

I heard that Natsu was MFTL through powerscaling him dodging some guy named Sting shadow and light attacks

@holyy: Blatantly false and debunked a lot of times since Natsu was tagged by barely sound speed attacks in most recent chapters, for example mere foot soldiers. Magic light/shadow/lightning isn't real light/shadow/lightning etc.

Besides debunks and feats against that...i hiiiighly doubt that Natsu is faster than Post Crisis Flash, Superman and Ultra Instinct Goku x'D

For the thread i would go with War Gaara. His sand his a lot stronger, faster and without those weakness compared with Ajeel sand, which is just normal sand composition.

For example Gaara's chakra inf. Sand can tank Amaterasu, and Amaterasu can vaporize steel blades in less then 1 second during Boruto Gaiden. And this feat happened before the War, when Gaara acquired the gold dust from his father.

@lord_spectrum: Nope. He blocked Sasuke's Amaterasu at the Five Kage Summit with minimal difficulty. Amaterasu is a very dangerous Uchiha jutsu that makes the caster's eye bleed on use. It's black fire that is highly deadly so Gaara's sand blocking it with minimal issue would prove it can't turn to glass.

@asianantics: @lord_spectrum: @kasya_carey: jus curious what is natsus best fire burn/melt feat it's really the deciding factor here as Amaterasu is really only implied to be hot as the sun but feats suggest other wise as it didn't melt Samurai armor or madaras armor it took time to burn thru the raikages arm and barely burned orochimarus snake so if natsu can't do better than that he can't win here

Natsu should be able to vaporize all the sand around him, like he did against ajeel. Then go for a demolition fist up close for the win.

Natsu powers up and turns all of Gaara's sand to glass with his high intensity flames. Let's be honest, Gaara is one of the biggest jobbers in the Narutoverse. He'd just be a tomato can to full powered Natsu who defeated beyond space-time Zeref 1v1.

yeah amaterasu has been consistently underwhelming. nothing even close to Current Natsu. now inferno release is something different because it's more than just Amaterasu in every case.

So I'd say Natsu's heat is on another level compared to any other fire in Naruto. can it turn Gaara's sand to glass? maybe. I think it could do so. if it can it become whether or not Natsu can actually hit him. Gaara doesn't tend to move around a lot so doesn't have a lot of speed feats but, I can't imagine him being too slow either. Natsu isn't exactly slow but, I don't think he can keep up with too many high tiers. definitely destroy them by radiating heat.

So the question if neither of them move fast and neither of them is easily able to hurt the other it'd probably come down to stamina.

@sideshowbill: Go herethen Ctrl+F "Fire" Those are all his fire feats. None of them seem to be as hot or impressive as Amaterasu. He usually tanks a fire explosion or eats fire. The strongest fire feat I saw was him burning Iron and eating it. Even that is unimpressive when you see Part 1 Gaara was able to handle Kimimaro whose bones are 5x stronger than steel. Steel is a harder and stronger mixture of mostly Iron and other metals. Consider this steel is 5x stronger than regular steel as to which is stronger than regular Iron. So if Gaara's sand was smacking it around than I don't see how Natsu would be able to burn through it, not even mentioning this isn't War / Kazekage Gaara, this is 12 year old child Gaara. Natsu just isn't strong enough.

Zeref (400+ years experience as a Black Mage) said Natsu's fire was able to burn souls on-panel. Also able to burn time itself since Zeref was beyond space-time in that form. That's also on-panel. Amaterasu was getting blocked by sand. Even the 4th Raikage punch through Amaterasu to smack Sasuke and didn't immediately lose his arm. Natsu's fire when he is serious has better feats than anything Amaterasu ever did.

The second databook (page 200) stated that Amaterasu is "the fires from hell" and is as hot as the Sun. It can't be put out for Seven days and Seven nights unless the user puts it out on purpose. It burns any material - fire included - until it's overcome it and only ash remains (Naruto Chapter 390, Page 1). So far the few things that resist Amaterasu is Gaara's chakra-infused sand and Naruto's chakra cloak. Both are chakra related and both are living. Gaara's sand is also insane and can break materials 5x harder than steel in it's weakest form.

Itachi (or Obito, one or the other) sealed Amaterasu into Sasuke's eyes so that if another Sharingan user looked into his eyes and Sasuke looked into his, the Sharingan user would burn to ash instantly. That's mad. If Sasuke ever looked into Kakashi's eye with his Mangekyo Sharingan active, Kakashi would die instantly. The only thing he could do would be to Kamui it away or die. It's burning potential is the highest tier'd fire release and in of itself is one of the deadliest Sharingan abilities.

@asianantics: the manga and anime kept saying that stuff and every showing of Amaterasu was lackluster. it didn't imediately consume anything. now maybe endgame sasuke's Amaterasu is more faithful to descriptions but, otherwise it tends to come off as unimpressive. madara's fire annihilation was more impressive than anything entirely Amaterasu.

Raikage slapped Sasuke right through Amaterasu and it didn't show the kind of heat you are describing. Let's be realistic here, if it was as "Hot as the sun" Raikage's entire arm & body would have been vaporized instantly. The Raikage even had time to chat then lob his own burning arm off before it spread. I go by feats over the hype.

Misleading considering Natsu has eaten fire including black flames to power himself up. Natsu is a high level fire Demon with immunity/resistance to flames. If Raikage (with Amaterasu on him) could almost KO Sasuke then it ain't touching Natsu. Neither is Gaara.

Heck, random Samurai soldiers survived being set on fire by Amaterasu simply by taking their armor off. If it was so hot they would have been cooked inside the armor.

^^^^ You skipped over some pretty important Info, Raikage is wearing a Chakra cloak which increases his durability. This happens with multiple Naruto characters (Naruto for example.)

Natsu's flames were enough to beat an immortal beyond-space time Zeref. I doubt a sand wall is going to stop him from smoking Gaara. Natsu has melted entire arenas just as a side effect of using his flames.

Gaara gets cooked inside of his sand like a hard-boiled egg from just being near Natsu if we go by the feats here.

And if we go by Feats, Natsu isn't touching Gaara, in that scan you showed me I can see 2 fodder level beings taking that heat. Melting Rock isn't that impressive.

canon fodder... really? Lucy is canon fodder? the most powerful celestial spirit mage in fairy tail (series) is fodder. compared to the rest of team Natsu maybe but, she isn't weak. Happy isn't all that weak either. that's not really the point though. fairy tail is a joke (I mean that in a good way) no one is going to die because the idiot protagonist accidentally melted them. if this happened in the naruto world a chakra cloak would be needed just to survive.

Amaterasu has multi-mountain attack potency, and it hot enough to vaporize steel and burn out opposing flames in seconds. It's far hotter and more powerful than anything Natsu has, except maybe his full strength Exploding Flame Blade. Which would take him at least 30 seconds to pull off, which will leave him buried half a mile underground before he can even use it. He isn't going to be vulcanizing Gaara's sand in a normal fight.

And Gaara's sand has tanked large city/small mountain level impacts before without too much strain, so Natsu isn't just going to punch through it.

He gets sand blitzed before he can do anything.

Outlier feat burns 8 tail beast

If this was natsu vs Amaterasu I'd say he's hotter and can probably consume it as well

On topic a case can be made for natsu turning gaaras sand into glass but I doubt it as it's not jus sand but a combination of various materials and it's chakra infused as well I'm going with gaara on this one his sand is very versatile and has shown incredible defensive feats

If anyone can prove that natsu burning souls and time is not jus an outlier or a crazy hype statement I'd change my mind in a heart beat

Itachi burned Sasukes fire with it while Itachi was still far stronger than him. Amaterasu has no good feats really. just accept that and try to make a case off of something else. Natsu has feats beyond any fire in Naruto. also a fact. does that mean it would win based on that fact? no. Could Natsu still glass it? Possibly. Does Natsu's fire hit things like a train? yes. did Natsu casually blow away a mountaintop without any effort fighting bluenote? yes he did. his fire does more than just burn.

as for anyone disputing Natsu's soul burning or time burning as outliers... that was basically his last solo fight of the series. he literally burned through control of space/time and death. heck he survived a curse that killed everyone else it touched with nothing but a scar on his face to show for it.

as for Gaara blocking a town busting attack. he had a lot of sand at his disposal there. his literal home turf. he can only compact and strengthen his sand so much. he needs quantity and quality. this fight takes place in a forest where he will be restricted to a gourd of sand to begin with. Sure he could grind up some of the earth for more sand but, that would take time.

I won't definitively say Natsu wins but, he does have more of a chance than people seem to think. Gaara is powerful make no mistake but, he isn't infallible.
