You'd need to be a full on retard to ignore authors intent because of inconsistent illustrations. The author is literally telling you how big the Seiretei is, but because he didn't consistently draw it to scale, his word apparently means nothing now. Forget the fact that There's a direct statement in the light novels about characters taking multiple days just to get from the gate of Seireitei to the seventh district, which gives credibility to Yoruichi's statement. Let's just ignore the fact that most of the scans don't even show the Rukongai district, which surrounds Seireitei as we've seen when Ichigo and co. first arrive in Soul Society, or other things we to know exist in Seireitei; such as the big ass forest where Yoruichi and Soi Fon fought. there's literally a scan where Seireitei is barely 1km in size. I guess these things just don't exist anymore, and the Seiretei isn't even town sized right? Don't even get me started on the fact that there are actual cities in the seretei for Christ sake. Cities in a city? Really?
