fight takes place in a dojo
Combatants start 12.5 meters apart
Strictly hand to hand
Win is by death only
Both of them have no prep but have been told who they'll fight
Both are in character
Mr. X vs Batgirl (cassandra)
"fight takes place in a dojo Combatants start 12.5 meters apart Strictly hand to hand Win is by death only Both of them have no prep but have been told who they'll fight Both are in character "
Does that mean they know OF the other characters skills and abilities?
" @k4tzm4n: nope they're just given their opponents name and then they fight. sorry if it was confusing "
I'll come out swinging by saying Mr. X. Unless he babbles about his powers, it's hard to believe Batgirl would be able to take this solely in unarmed combat.
" @IcePrince_X said:" Mr. X unless Cassandra can fight with a blank mind... she may have a chance in defeating him. "A blank mind? "
Its a technique where your body moves but your mind is in a different state of concsciousness that is why a telepath may not be able to detect what will be your next move.
" I'm only coming in here to say I hope we don't see a flood of the same Batgirl scans we always see. "When I post scans for BG I try to post ones that are not the reg run of the mil common ones
" Its a technique where your body moves but your mind is in a different state of concsciousness that is why a telepath may not be able to detect what will be your next move. "Not necessarily a technique, but a state of mind where a fighter would have to fight based on instinct and not think about his/her moves.
" @IcePrince_X said:Ah, but cassandra isn't a telepath and doesn't predict the opponents moves based on his state of mind, but by clues from their body" Its a technique where your body moves but your mind is in a different state of concsciousness that is why a telepath may not be able to detect what will be your next move. " Oh I thought he was saying Mr. X would fight with ablank mind, my mistake "It's cool.
Mr X does not predict his opponents next moves via telepathy or reading body language, but by reading the impulses in their nervous system.
" Mr X does not predict his opponents next moves via telepathy or reading body language, but by reading the impulses in their nervous system. "That's another thing. People confuse this with conscious thought, even the writers. They forget that the human body causes impulses whenever bodily functions or movements take place, and are independent of thought. This confusion with the way Mister X's powers work is the reason why Wolverine (berserked) defeated him, as well as Iron Fist (by using a style of kung fu that focused on being unpredictable). It's very silly.
" Does Mr. X have enhanced speed, strength, agility, ect.? "I don't think so. Wouldn't matter, though. Wolverine has all of this, and X destroyed him in battle.

"Well how fast is he?"Well, he's dodged Wolverine several times (who moves faster than the human eye). He's fast enough to deflect bullets with his sword, as well.

Because even if she waited for him to attack so she could launch a counterattack, he would still be able to read it because his ability.
" @erik said:But then he would counter, she would read it and execute another counter right? I think it really comes down to who is unfortunate enough to attack first." I am curious though. " Didnt Wolverine beat him in the second match up? I dont remember "Yes, because Wolverine went berserk, making him unpredictable so X couldn't read him. But, X's powers don't lock on to thoughts, but rather the neural impulses, so he should have been able to read him anyway.
" But then he would counter, she would read it and execute another counter right? I think it really comes down to who is unfortunate enough to attack first. "They would be blocking each other.
" @erik said:Exactly. Very likely they would block each other over and over again until the better fighter put their opponent into a situation where they cannot block the next attack. Now the question is who is the better fighter?" But then he would counter, she would read it and execute another counter right? "Exactly. Very likely they would block each other over and over again until the better fighter put their opponent into a situation where they cannot block the next attack. Now the question is who is the better fighter? "Depends. Mr. X has more bad showings than she does. He lost to Wolverine because of an inconsistency with his powers, and the same against Iron Fist, who used a style of kung fu that made him unpredictable. He lost again to Luke Cage in the issue after that while he was busy reading Iron Fist, but the problem with that is Mr. X has read two people before (Wolverine and Taskmaster, IIRC). Other than that, he's humiliated Taskmaster, Wolverine, Black Widow and Songbird. Batgirl, on the other hand, has better showings.
If both are written correctly, it would be hard to determine a winner.
" Why should I really need to... Mister X took down Wolverine like he was nothing... "So? That's just like me saying Batgirl would win because she defeated Bizarro Supergirl. The statement, in itself, is fallacious.
" @Static Shock said:He went feral and became too wild to read." @Son_of_Magnus said:Didnt Wolverine beat him in the second match up? Thanks. My last question would be this: Has Mr. X ever faced another character who had the ability to predict/read moves? Cause CC has. Not saying that gives her the win, just pointing out that she has experience facing people who can, and have, read her.
