US. Even the trailer for IW made me cringe for battle tactics. Sure, they had the shield, but behind it they were having like 1700-1800 style battle lines drawn up like troops of line. With spears? Ok, they have armor, but that will only last so long, they are outnumbered, most everything is defensive, and miss critical superiority as far as strategic command and control units/ and more.

Worse, with how they divide their society up so much, I swear, it is ripe for a smart set for the standard US freedom push against a monarchy; not evil dictator or not.

The US has better feats. Wakanda is meant to be better though and should beat us handily.

U.S. has better feats and far greater numbers, sure Wakanda can heal fatal wounds but not in the middle of battle so it's an irrelevant point to make.Spears that can destroy tanks are impressive, but the people throwing them can easily get shot just the same.

Their troops although superior, are hopelessly outnumbered and would flat out be overwhelmed and they would be force on the defensive within days of the war starting. Seeing as their population is around 6,000,000 (going off comic numbers, assuming its similar) the US army currently is over 1 million strong. In times of full mobilization (such as WW2 when the US had over a 12 million active duty soldiers) the US will literally be able to mobilize more people than their entire population and have the means to support those troops with massive industrial capabilities that put Wakanda to shame in terms of quantity.

Wakanda probably. The Russos said that its the best place to make a final stand against thanos. If that's true they should probably be superior.

That could very well have been because individual better fighters would be more apt at fighting Thanos and his goons than a bunch of even more fodder tier fodder. They can also provide high tech gear for guys like Tony to go nuts with.

That is in a literally emergency mode though. It would never realistically get to that point, especially when they can hopelessly outnumber Wakanda with 10-20% of their population

I think people are overestimating Wakanda tbh. If they kitted out every one of their soldiers like BP and actually had military tech on the scale of production the US has it, then I would be inclined to say they win. But they don't.

When the US could theoretically outnumber their entire population 10-1 with virtual ease, never mind their fighting force, and has a far more potent war machine, I can't see Wakanda winning.

Wakanda has technology far beyond what we currently have. Cloaking, plasma weapons, miniturized EMP devices, forcefields, holograms,repulsor technology, kinetic energy absorbsion and redirection, anti-metal claws advanced sensors,remote access control, hacking far beyond our own, medical science far beyond our own, etc They consider guns primitive. They have handheld weaponry with the damage output of a missile. The U.S. cannot defeat Wakanda, they could likely cripple our forces before we had a chance. All they would have to do is hack into our defense networks and paralyze our communications and our forces would be compromised. Numbers matter, but not when the level of technology is this different.

We couldn't defeat the Viet Cong or Taliban, what makes you think we can defeat a nation with technology decades, even centuries beyond our own?

I think we have to look at the intent of what Wakanda is suppose to be. I admit they could have done better to show Wakanda's weapons in the black panther movie but they seem to be portrayed way beyond what we are capable of. Seeing as guns are apparently primitive to them.

The fact that someone like Tony stark needs to turn to them for tech only solidifies the point. Considering Tony has made suits of armor that are well beyond realism.

Honestly, can't really tell what all Wakanda has right now. They have potential, but in the single movie featuring the nation, they didn't show enough to beat the US. I do believe that if it came to air combat or ground combat, the Wakandan warriors would beat out the US at least 2-3 to 1. And some of the elite warriors probably higher than that. Their "jets" seemed pretty superior technology and if they are coated in vibranium as well....it will be hard to shoot them down.

But, based on the little showings it has so far Wakanda should lose currently.

Unless this is a bloodlusted U.S., we stand no chance. Factions within our nation would be fighting each other for control and battle tactics would suffer as a result. Not to mention how ripe we would be for home grown terrorist sympathisers. We could perhaps win assuming there are no worse weapons of war in Wakanda than we have already seen (Not likely) if we had a dedicated citizenry though.
