Thanos, you're talking about a tad bit stronger than Hulk who knows Martial Arts very well, dude was laying the beating on the Hulk and each punch stagger the Hulk and we never saw anyone dazed Hulk with casual punch.

@arqe: Thor was beating Hulk with punch not as casual as Thanos, did you see the movie ? if you will compare the fight, Thor was shown throwing some nasty punch that you will really expect that will stagger Hulk while the fight with Thanos, a simple couple of body shots already stagger Hulk and a few more hits knocked him out, even Ebony Maw stop Cull Obsidian when he is about to interfere saying that let him have this, implying that Hulk is not even the slightest threat to Thanos in H2H combat

Impossible to say since we never saw Thanos withlut gems. He had the power stone from the getgo, which did appear to have amped Ronans stats so he was probably never at base level.

@miekskywalker actually I would hardly call myself a DC fan, I much, much prefer the MCU over DCEU, but it's asinine to not realise that DCEU characters are, on average, much more powerful than MCU characters. That's jut the way each studio decided to have its characters.

Probably Thanos but he doesn't have any feats without gems. Even if we assume he stomped Hulk at base level, HulK and Steppenwolf aren't interchangeable as they have different abilities/skillset. Hulk is stronger and more durable but for the most part is just a brute while Steppenwolf has speed, skill and an impressive weapon. Steppenwolf won't rush Thanos and I doubt Thanos can keep up with Steppenwolf easily.

Why would you say so? Thanos no sold Drax swords, had only puny scratch from IMs full force nanotech axe swing, and no sold high tech riffle bullets than may or not may be made from vibranium. What feats does Step axe have to suggest it would even do as much damage as Iron Man?

Thanos is featless without the gems and even with them he was being hurt by everything until he actively started using the gems.

The Axe is the only danger here, but Thanos was extremely skilled, I think he'd body Steppenwolf tbh but it might be hype.

We never saw Thanos without the gems. He had the Power Gem the entire movie, and that happens to be the one that increases strength. I guess you could argue he wasn't using it, but that seems speculative, pretty sure it amped Ronan's durability.

If we assume it didn't amp him then Thanos is superior physically but has no piercing resistance so it would come down to who's faster. Considering Thanos had trouble hitting Spider-Man I'd go with Steppenwolf.

It seemed like the Gauntlet was only being used when he explicitly and consciously used it to me, I don't think it passively amped him, it even seemed like he had to physically initiate its power.

If it were any gem but the Power Gem I'd agree, but that's the one Gem that amps stats and it wouldn't necessarily leave a physical indicator. IIRC Ronan tanked a supposedly moon busting attack with it, and he didn't even have the gauntlet to harness the power. Although Ronan was much more impressive with the power gem so who knows.

I do agree he probably wasn't amped physically given Gamora could still cut him and Loki doing so was considered a viable threat, I just don't think we can say for sure.

I don't remember when he tanked bullets, but I would think he was blocking them given he blocked all the attacks in Wakanda.

I tend to agree that it probably wasn't the case, I got the impression that the scene with the Hulk was supposed to be us seeing Thanos' own power. Battles probably shouldn't be made without him having at least the Power Stone.
