Big Purple Daddy.

Unless they are the same size. Then Thanos still wins.

If Thanos is still the same size, he kills Bats.

If they are both the same size, could be hard to tell. Thanos put a whooping on Hulk that he’ll never forget.

With equal stats Batman wins.

Thanos CAN actually be a better fighter than Batman...but we'll probably never know for sure since he doesn't need to rely on skill as heavily as Batman, so we must go with the one famous for it. But Thanos has centuries of experience, so I can see why this thread was made, no one should be offended.

I'll take the one which actual feats against opponents with actual skill.

If this was a fight against fodder then I'd choose Batman.

Another decisive win for team MCU

@thegerudoking: Who did Thanos fight that actually used skill on him? He got hit three times by Cap and a couple of times by Nebula IIRC.

Avatar image for thegerudoking

@supremegeneration: Tony used skill when they fought on Titan.

The few hits that Steve did when he arrived in Wakanda showed skill with where he placed his strikes but that is irrelevant because we know that Steve is a skilled fighter. Moreso than Bruce.

And he also fought Thor off-screen at the beginning of the movie and he has shown skill as well in his gladiator fight with Hulk.

Batman's skills won't account for the fact that

1. No suit

2. Thanos dwarfs Bruce.

Thanos was shown nerve striking Hulk in the neck and also well versed in boxing. All bruce did in the warehouse scebe is to exhaust his gadget and let his armor do the heavylifting and this fight bruce won't have a gadget to rely on.

Batman stomps. Thanos is much physically larger but no more powerful, that actually gives Batman the advantage due to him being a smaller target. With Batman also having a greater skill level than Thanos who was merely boxing, he wins.

Forgot to respond to this.

Tony used skill when they fought on Titan.

What skill? All he did was hit him. He showed no more skill than he did against, say, Cap in Civil War (the way I've worded it in the past is just moves that he picked up from years on the job, not actual skill). Even if you want to argue that Stark was using skill, he was getting manhandled. At the start, he got blitzed, hit again, got the drop of blood combo landed on him, etc.

Thanos only took the advantage when he flipped a stationary Tony over and started going at his nanites. That only takes physicals, not skill.

The few hits that Steve did when he arrived in Wakanda showed skill with where he placed his strikes but that is irrelevant because we know that Steve is a skilled fighter. Moreso than Bruce.

I agree with the underlined part, but if he was helpless against someone skilled, we can't just assume he won't be helpless against a less skilled opponent. Getting speedblitzed by Wally West doesn't mean you won't get speedblitzed by Spider-Man unless you have feats to prove as such.

And he also fought Thor off-screen at the beginning of the movie and he has shown skill as well in his gladiator fight with Hulk.

The key word here is "off-screen" (or would that be words? let's say phrase lol). He had the power gem AND the Black Order as back-up. We have absolutely no reason to assume that he 1v1'd Thor and bested him skillwise, which would still be diminished by the fact that he eclipses Thor in stats.

@supremegeneration: what Tony did to Thanos to get that drop of blood was definitely a skill based combo. He not only neutralized the gauntlet but was able to keep Thanos off balance to deliver the hits necessary to get that drop of blood. You can't deny that was skillful.

The thing is though, Thanos was never really at a disadvantage. He easily tanked most attacks and quickly recovered from the combo and proceeded to lay the smackdown on Tony. That's not an anti-feat for Tony showing lack of skill in his part, but rather a feat for Thanos showing his durability and the high level of his own skill.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding your point about when Steve encountered him in Wakanda, but Thanos was definitely not helpless when fighting Steve. He just stood there and let him deliver a three hit combo that is effective in taking down bigger opponents. It was just ineffective because Thanos outclasses Steve in every way.

Fair enough on your point about his encounter with Thor. But I will say that just because he eclipses Thor stat-wise doesn't take away from his skill level.

In this scenario, Bruce is already at a disadvantage because he heavily relies on his gear and armor. He would've died in the warehouse if not for his gear. One could say that Thanos relies on the gauntlet but in his fight with Hulk he showed that he can win a fight with skill alone.

If stat's are equalized up to Thanos's level and size remains the same Thanos might win.

If stat's are equalized down to Batman's level and size remains the same Thanos falls over due to his weight and Batman beats him while he's on the ground.

If stat's are equalized up or down and size is equal as well, Batman wins. That is unless we assume Thanos is more skilled than Thor which I think was confirmed.

Equal stats in the way some people here are thinking of would mean Batman is much tougher and hits just as hard with his smaller surface area, it'd be a hilarious mismatch in his favor even with the reach disadvantage that no one here seems to realize because simple physics is hard apparently.

But for the actual intent of the thread, Batman is a much better fighter, of course he'd win.

It's not like he was a champion in a battle arena or anything during Thor Ragnarok, or was trained by Valkyrie.. a 1000+ year old warrior of legend. whom easily beat Loki in h2h.

@blacharrt:

He could've been trained by anyone and yet he had no concept of skill in the arena or when he went against Thanos.

What other skill feat does Thanos have?

Do you genuinely believe Thanos is more skilled than Batman?

Valkyrie could've trained Hulk all day long but I don't know what anyone expects him to learn. Hulk isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed and it's safe to assume he doesn't learn fast. At best Hulk learnt how to use a weapon slightly more efficiently.

Even when he caught Thanos off guard he pretty much was hitting him without nay skill.
