We have to take two things into consideration:
- MCU Rescue was made in 2023. Which means that least the tech in the suit is probably similar to the nano-tech that Iron Man has. She uses detachable parts of her suit to amp attacks. This alone can put her above the older suits in previous movies.
- She has ONE really good feat. Shortly, after all the female members gather, a Leviathan waves comes for the team. She seems to charge a casual, two-hand repulse beam and ONE SHOTS on the Leviathans. Similar to how Thor one shotted one of them in the first Avengers movie (when he shoots lightning from the tower).
@mrsportsguy13: limiting Rhodes that much makes it unfair...
@sy8000: she one-shotted a leviathan
I just remember her blasting one. I honestly got the impression that was more about the leviathan being fodder than anything.
@ready_4_madness: @sy8000: They are the same creatures. No reason to assume thay are weaker in EG. Heroes got much stronger over the years. Rescue stomps.
@ready_4_madness: They were flying through buildings w/o problem. Their armor could not be damaged by iron mans weapons and earth metals can't break/cut their armor. They are low tier kaiju but still strong for MCU. Rescue wins.
Potts takes out the trash for Tony.
@tonystark6999: ???
@tonystark6999: ???
War Machine isn't Trash for me. So, had to strike through.
@tonystark6999: i should've been more specific then. He definitely is beast.
She shouldn't be that great with the suit considering her lack of experience, but that didn't seem to hinder her ability in EG.
@firstfirmament: Common misconception, Pepper knows a not irrelevant amount of information about Tony's suits since Ironman 1 (Was his assistant duh and helped him with Arc Reactor once) and in Ironman 3 she actually uses one of his suits and even knows more about them than before (Being IRONMAN'S WIFE).
There's almost a decade since the start of the films to End Game for her to have learned how to effectively use the suits not including any A.I that may have been present in the suit, and so her lack of experience is pretty much a non factor considering she was probably one of the strongest female hero's in the battle and casually fodderized everyone except Thanos.
@ready_4_madness: But due to their large size leviathans would be destroying a much larger part of the buildings and would need to overcome much higher force.
@contingency: valid point
@noone1996: When did Rescue ever make Thanos scream? She, Shuri and Hope all blasted Thanos back and all he did was grunt which proves nothing.
OT: When did Rescue one shot a Leviathan?
@ready_4_madness: Iron Man blew up the Leviathan's exposed skin. He couldn't penetrate it's armor by himself though. Even when he himself ends up blowing a Leviathan to pieces (again) laster in the movie it's due to him destroying it from the inside.
@darthvaderrocks: Find a video of the female Avengers moment during Endgame.
Theres a moment where you see a wave come at them and she casually shoots a repulsor blast that destroys one.
@tony_shark: Just watched it and she shoots at it but there was never an indication she one shot it. In fact, when she shoots at it it continues to maintain it's flight. Only ships she one shot were the Necrocrafts.
@darthvaderrocks: Yes, I'm sure Hope and Shuri's combined energy made a huge impact on Thanos screaming grunting.
@noone1996: Why did you reply to this 12 days later?
Anyway that wasn't a scream. Thanos screaming is him getting his arm chopped off.
This is the first time I'm seeing Pepper's Hero name as Rescue. Was this stated in the movie and I missed it? Also, she fodderizes her opponents handily.
@darthvaderrocks: Fine, grunting. I'm going to edit my comment. Point is, her blasts were hurting him.
@iron_tiger: It was never stated in the movies but we all assume it is rescue since well she looks like MARVEL RESCUE and is MARVEL Rescue in every way but name.
@noone1996: I think "hurt" is giving all 3 of them too much credit. But that wouldn't really be a Rescue feat as Hope and Shuri fired at the same time and hit him at the same time as Rescue did. So I'm not sure you can really call that a feat for any of them individually.
@darthvaderrocks: It was a shared feat, but come on. I think we know who made him grunt in pain.
@anthp2000: Pepper most certainly needs this handicap, because she's not beating Rhodes with his best feats.
@darthvaderrocks: So you think without Hope's and Shuri's beams Thanos would have no-sold the attack?
@noone1996: Pepper's best solo feat is destroying a Necrocraft. Thanos has tanked much better attacks.
I mean what they did isn't even impressive. They fire and he immediately is able to stop Carol from reaching the van. And I don't take a little grunt seriously since the man grunts when he himself punches people. It's cool they knocked him back but that's all they did.
Whiplash and Iron Monger are essentially fodder. With Rhodes being limited, he's not gonna give the team the win. Potts wins.
Rescue was wrecking Leviathans, Outriders, and made Thanos grunt in pain. This is not close.
@darthvaderrocks: Thanos does not always grunt in pain when he's hit and Pepper's best feat was actually wrecking a Leviathan. But hey man, if you think that Shuri's blasts (which were casually deflected by Corvus) and Hope's blasts (which were mainly used for KO'ing humans) are high enough to also make Thanos grunt in pain, then I guess we can agree to disagree. Either that or you can show me clips of practically anybody doing it. Off the top of my head, a weakened Thor at the beginning of Infinity War couldn't hurt him with a piece of metal that he hit Thanos in the head with, Spider-Man could not get him to grunt, Iron Man's explosions didn't make him grunt, Starlord's blasts were no-sold, Dr. Strange's energy sword was caught and no-sold, Bucky's bullets were no-sold, etc. Also, I know you probably think I'm making a big deal out of nothing, but the way he grunts in pain seems louder and longer than usual.
