1- 50/50 Could go Either Way. We saw Iron Man and Thor resist the gem, so Surter should be able to resist it even if only temporarily. Long enough for him to slice through the Celestial

2- Surter, much easier

3- Surter maybe..?

@redshift_bacon:

I think Iron Man and Thor haven't resisted full force of the Power Gem. At the beginning, Thanos only wanted to torture Thor to get the Tesseract. In battle of Titan, Thanos wasn't going all out and wanted to probably KO Tony. With IG Thanos seemed to be able to control the power of Gem's blast (as he used a much weaker blast to overpower Drax & Mantis).

When Celestial uses the Gem, it's probably the only time we see anything close to its true potential.

So in round 1 Celestial stomps. Don't know about others. In round 2 it's like Surtur vs Ego (though celestials probably vary in power). Ego doesn't have obvious offensive feats to overpower Surtur but on the other hand he was able to terraform his planet whole surface and he had half the power necessary for his expansion - feats that are seemingly around/above Surtur's destruction of Asgard. So it would be a good fight, assumimg this celestial is comparable to Ego.

And I'm sure that the strongest Celestials dwarf Ego (and Surtur) in power, seeing the size of Knowhere head.

@nn5: Iron Man definitely withstood the full Power Gem. Thanos had killer intent the entire fight. Dr Strange even sacrificed the Time Stone so Thanos didn't kill Tony lol...

@redshift_bacon:

Still don't think so. Thanos could have killed Tony with that blade yet he didn't and only wanted to torture him to force Strange to give the Stone (like in the beginning with Thor & Loki). I agree Thanos would have probably killed Tony if Strange didn't give him the Gem but it wasn't his intent during whole fight.

Also, the full force of Power Gem can at least destroy surface of a planet. Iron Man armor was ripped apart by Thanos' bare hands. No way any blast Thanos used on Tony is close to Stone's full power. If it's true it would look like Thanos' punches are stronger than planet-level attacks.

@nn5: Thats a good theory except Dr Strange clearly would have let Tony die if he wasn't absolutely necessary to his plan sooo.

Thanos didn't know if Strange would let Tony die or not. I think he rather thought that Strange as a hero wouldn't let anyone die. Anyways, what Strange would do doesn't matter, only Thanos' intent is important here.

@redshift_bacon:

Maybe you're right. I thought about that quote and I think it's hard to say what Thanos really intended. Thanos' attitude towards the heroes is really inconsistent (from his brutal treatment of Asgardians to holding back often).

Apart from this, due to the other reasons I've given, I'm still sure that Thanos never used PG's full power.
