Anyway, he's far, far more powerful than Tony. And also more versatile, which did show in their encounter I think, when he launched Tony 100 ft. up in the air with a tiny gesture.

The clear implication that Tony knew he couldn't take him in a fight when they were abroad the spaceship with Spidey and Strange is just icing on the cake.

@anthp2000: Throwing Tony away is impressive but it's just BFR. Only argument I see is (as you say) the possible intent of Tony not being able to take him at the ship (though I wouldn't count Strange here as he was restrained at the moment) and also maybe scaling from Thor.

Maw has plenty of low showings though, like I'm not sure what would happen in New York battle if Cull didn't intervene as Maw was missing with his attacks and Tony was getting closer. Plus Russos saying they wanted to make longer Black Panther vs. Maw fight (also Maw not trashing Panther immediately is a bit of low showing in the first place).

The guy restrained Thor, who even beaten to shit is miles stronger than Tony. Ignoring that it was pretty obvious Maw's too much for him in the movie imo.

Maw restrains Tony then Tony fires a bunch of mini rockets in every direction aiming at Maw. Tony wins, Maw can’t stop that many individual pieces.

@buildhare: How beaten Thor is miles stronger than Tony? Even fresh Thor isn't 'miles' stronger (as Tony restrained Thanos' one arm on Titan).

Tony's power is "quaint" and "inconsequential" he saves nothing. Maw kills him.

Plus he was the only child in EG that didn't get killed in battle.

Okoye 1 shot Corvus, Scott 1 shot Cull, and Proxima got offscreened???

@captain_inverse: Proxima died due to the snap. She was in the background, holding dying Corvus.

@nn5: might as well have been, she did nothing, just as underwhelming as the other children in Endgame.

Proxima vs. Okoye would have made more sense, after five yrs, Okoye would get another chance to beat Proxima.

Iron Man should stomp

From the context of the movie, it would be a struggle to beat Maw directly. However, Iron Man has a variety of ranged attacks. It really depends on the environment and how they decide to approach the battle.

Iron man by feats. A case can be made for maw in universe but I’m not certain I would except it.

Can Maw do anything more than Ragdoll him a bit? I don't see how he puts IM down

I can definitely see why Maw would win, but I think Iron Man’s energy attacks are too fast for Maw to do anything against.

Maw handily . Tony admitted to the fact that his powers were inconsequential in comparison to Maw’s and Maw was more powerful than Dr. Strange .

@wakeupsid: Maw only beat Strange by restraining him before he could do anything. Iron Man is strong enough to break free from anything he can muster and one shot him

What are you talking about ? He did try to fight with Maw in same suit and then he fought with Thanos in same suit. He never changed suits after going nano at the beginning of IW.

It is the same suit even he admitted he cant take Maw and had to BFR him.

Tony stomps maw couldn’t stop bricks let alone a fleet of billets and missiles

@allhellkingdox: How does he stomp someone who already bested him once and pretty much admitted he was inferior to? And Mae could stop bricks, he just used a car to block and some of them went through which he wasn’t expecting. He beat Strange who is arguably Iron Man’s superior a be he casually felt with Spider Man as well.

Ebony doesn't have a win condition. Tony eventually just bombards or blasts him out of existence.

Is Maw really more powerful than Strange?

Iron Man would’ve oneshotted him in the film if he aimed at Maw instead of the wall
