VERSUS

Rules:

• Standard gear. Gamora in her usual garb with her sword and Okoye in her Dora Milaje armor and spear.
• Determined to win.
• Random encounter.
• No prep.
• Start 15 feet apart.
• Win by death or KO.

Who wins and why?

Gamora stomps

Gamora has some pretty high stats. And her and Nebula have training from Thanos so she isn't devoid of skill. I personally think Gamora is closer to cap than Okoye.

Massive mismatch

Gamora is superhuman enough to fall from maximum velocity and land on her feet without any strain let alone damage

Can also hold with one hand Drax moving at high speeds whilst slamming off trees not to mention many more instances

@thevivas: when her, drax and mantis got thrown out of the ship and fell for more than 30 seconds and all landed like nothing happened

When it pans out you see the distance they fall

And I actually forgot she held onto the cable that was holding Drax.

@jashro44: tbh comparing her to cap isn't doing her any justice, we see cap jumping from not too far up in TWS and having to land on his shield to limit the damage and see him still struggling afterwards whereas she's got the stats to land from far higher distance on her feet casually

@jashro44: I forgot about some of her better strength feats. You can lock this if you think it’s too one-sided.

Superhuman strength isn't gonna save Gamora from Vibranium. I don't recall any speed feats from her that would place her above Okoye and Okoye has better skill feats. It's not a mismatch but Okoye wins. I'm failing to understand why people think its unfair.

I was thinking more about how she used that bigass gun in guardians of the Galaxy 2. I don't remember her other feats too well.

I was thinking it might be hard to parry Gamora's attacks. I guess considering what her spear did to that car it could be quite devastating if it connects.

@amcu: well you have her fighting nebula and beating her when nebula has two electric weapons and gamora starts out with none

Even then trying to parry and block someone's attacks who are stronger than you is very hard but when it comes to the point of perhaps 50x stronger than you, your not going to be able to parry them blows so strength and stats are a big factor

Plus During her fight with nebula she implemented kicks, parries and showed more skill than Okoye perhaps more on the level of Cap and BP

We also have during that fight her being electrocuted by electricity so powerful her whole body lights up and can see into her bones and she shrugs it off and keeps fighting

That's what I was thinking to. This is basically a battle of who hits the other first imo.

1. True but does Nebula have any notable skill feats?

2. She doesn't need to parry them. She can straight up kill Gamora by stabbing her. One good hit and Gamora is dead

3. I'd disagree. This is kinda moving over to choreography which is more debatable imo. From a feat perspective I'm more impressed with Okoye taking out fodder than Gamora's feats.

4. That's great but it won't protect her from a Vibranium spear.

@thevivas: would be a good match up with gamora narrowly taking it in my opinion partly due to hype and reputation and personally think she showed more skill aswell in feats during her fight vs nebula

It's cut weirdly so can't see the whole time they're falling but it shows another scene of them at 3:15 still falling and you can see how big the expanse is

@thevivas: Hard to say. Gamora has only really fought Nebula whereas Okoye has only really fought fodder. I don't think Gamora could replicate Okoye's agility feat so maybe she is more skilled but it would be difficult to say for sure.

Regardless @amcu brought up a good point about it being a battle of who hits who first. So it might be fine the way it is.

I don't see Gamora getting tagged in most fights if the fought out of 10, but Okoyes' Spear could wreck Gamora.

But based on portrayals for determining skill, and factoring in Gamora's stat advantage, she really should win.

Gamora wins. Okoye can win if she lands a car busting spear throw, but I think Gamora is fast enough to dodge the spear if thrown.

Gamora. She’s part of an alien race that appears to be physically stronger and more durable. And I can’t imagine Okoye has more combat experience/skill than Gamora either. She is the daughter of Thanos after all.

Okoye still wins if we're going by feats.....

If we use scaling based off the the Russo's statement than Gamora wins.

Well they said that the Black Order are supposed to be as and more powerful than her. Most interpret that as meaning that the weakest members(Proxima and Corvus)are on Gamora's level.

@amcu: Well Thanos did state Gamora was the most dangerous woman in the galaxy. I guess that would include Proxima Midnight.

True I don't take that comment too seriously though. I mean I guess it depends on what its supposed to mean. But in terms of pure combat ability there are several people that I'd be surprised if they where less capable than her.

Gamora wins by having actual skill feats fighting by herself, better combat speed, and better reaction time, plus overwhelmingly superior physical stats

Okoye has added a new feat that destroys Gamora's feats. Okoye killed Courvus Glaive like it was nothing!!!

Okoye with a spear is trouble.

Okoye wins after Endgame - The spear lets her parry her hits, grants superior reach and a oneshot tool. Being faster and more skilled helps as well.
