Captain America has his shield
Gamora has her sword
Nebula and Bucky are unarmed
In-Character, morals on
Well drax weighs at least 200 pounds, and gamora held onto him with one arm, on a rope, in a spaceship, that was crashing, while drax was flinging off of hundreds of trees....
Steve held a helicopter
As much i as believe steve and soldier have the skill advantage, strength is just way too different now
@killers10333: She also lifted that massive warship gun and walked with it. Considering it should be entirely metal, that must have weighed a ton (figuratively, maybe literally). Even still Nebula is (according to back story provided) not at all on Gamora's level. I'd give it to Cap and WS, partially because holding Drax as he plowed through massive trees going a couple hundred mph during a plane crash seemed like a gag more than an intentional display of strength: by all means an outlier feat.
@darkbiscuit: That was still a valid feat even if it was aided with slight comedic effect.
I'll say the sisters take a slim majority. GotG 2 feats comfortably put Gamora a tier above MCU super soldiers as far as strength and durability is concerned and Nebula shouldn't be far behind. The only area where the super soldiers hold an advantage over the sisters is skill and even that is debatable. So, sisters win 6/10 times.
Lets just say feminists would be up in arms about the result of this.
True.
@heroup2112: No spoilers but you could probably extrapolate an opinion based on the trailers and the first movie. In the new movie, Nebula and Gamora are both shown to be much stronger and more durable than Cap and Bucky. However, their speed isn't any different then the first movie and they don't really have any new fighting scenes so their skill is the same as depicted in the first movie. If you thought Gamora and Nebula were close in skill to Cap and Bucky, then they will definitely win this fight as they are much stronger and more durable.
Gamora and Nebula has the strength and durability advantage. I'd say the soldiers will struggle with one of them but two of them will be more than enough.
@widowblue: Any reasons?
@widowblue: how does being tactical overcome the stats
In terms of who'll be knocked down first, the I'll say Cap and Buck put them down. Maybe in the long-run the sisters will pull it off, though Gamora and Neb don't seem skillful enough to counter the strikes from the soldiers. I can see when Neb is self-repairing, on of the soldiers will just try to keep it that way but Neb can always recover. Gamora could be put down though, so I can see it ending with the soldiers against the always self-repairing Neb.
It seems to me that Cap should be able to hold Gamorra in combat without excessive risk due to his skill with an impenetrable shield. The question becomes, can an unarmed (irony) winter soldier incapacitate Nebula long enough to gain a wicked awesome 2v1 iron man victory over Gamorra? My guess is putting her down won't be too difficult due to observed skill advantage, robotic arm, and ruthlessness in battle. Not certain he could dismember Nebula but he may be capable of using the environment to somehow pin her at least for a time. I'd say the soldiers take this 8/10 due to nebula's lack of observed skill feats....she is too easily tagged.
@strider1992: MCU Gamorra seems in the ballpark, but there is nothing MCU Nebula has shown that puts her anywhere near Steve or Bucky in the skill dept. Comic version is another matter entirely.
Gamora survived being hit by hundreds of oak-like trees whilst traveling at near speed of sound.
She also was able to hold onto Drax as they travel 1000s of miles per hour in space, whilst Drax was tied up on a long metallic chain whilst crashing onto particles in space.
Cap is strong and so is Bucky... but Gamora is a few tiers above them in durability and maybe 1 tier above in strength... she's been amped for Guardians 2.
I wish Gamora and Nebula's skill was fleshed out a bit more. Given how obscure it is (extensive training with Thanos, presumed training with Ronan, a few feats here and there such as wrecking fodder and out-skilling Star-Lord), it makes it difficult to compare these two to more established fighters such as Cap and Bucky. However, theoretically the sisters seem to be portrayed as incredibly skilled and dangerous combatants, and are at least as strong and durable as the super soldiers. Gamora also has a better pure reflex feat than either of the soldiers (the energy blast dodge in the prison escape, which was a legit dodge from super close range), and Nebula has similar combat speed to Gamora, so really they aren't outclassed in speed.
The only wildcard here is skill. Nebula and Gamora are peers if not superiors to the super soldiers in terms of physicals, and Nebula has ridiculous durability due to her cybernetic enhancements. Theoretically, I would think the sisters would be more skilled given that training from the likes of Thanos and Ronan should be superior to the training Shield and Hydra can provide.
I can see this going either way based on feats and some in-universe logic. Cap and Bucky have the presumed edge in skill for now, and definitely would have superior teamwork which would be quite an important factor. Nebula and Gamora have the strength advantage and Nebula is the most durable combatant here. Speed is similar. I'll call it an even split.
@thor_parker82: We probably will, but GOTG fans are gonna be mad when Russo Force kicks in and Cap solos them...
@angeljax: Backing the super soldiers. Much more skilled and almost as physically formidable.
