MCU Dr. Strange vs MCU Base Thanos.

No prep for Thanos.

Standard Equipment.

Thanos has yet to collect any of the stones and decided to lure Dr. Strange for his stone first.

It's the same situation as the movie. But Stephen is alone on Titan, he saw the possible futures and hid the time stone and planned accordingly, same as in the movie but he has no back up.

In character, battle to death.

No BFR.

I feel like I recall Doctor Strange turning something into birds. If so I think he can win.

Probably Strange, he was already matching Thanos w/ Three Gems, and against a brute (just in terms of powers), Strange is in little danger. He can just hover out of range and blast Thanos with spells until he drops.

No stones Thanos is powerless to prevent BFR

This is a mismatch in favor of Strange. Dude turned a black hole into butterflies.

Dr. Strange can put a portal around his neck and close it.

I wouldn‘t say he could do it to living flesh though.

Strange could win via incap I think. He had Thanos ties up and he broke free using the IG. Strange was a beast in this film.

Strange was a beast against Thanos!

We have no concept of base Thanos feats. He's using the gauntlet here because it's his best weapon.

We know Maw took down Strange fairly easily, and that Maw holds Thanos up as a God almost. Do the math.

Besides bfr i dont think strange can hurt thanos

Strange has lots of tricks to put Thanos down, he even held his own against IG Thanos

Strange should win via BFR or portal decapitation.

Thanos can't do anything to him but Strange currently lacks offensive feats to make this a stomp.

We don't really have any showings for Thanos without the stones, aside from beating the Hulk into a pulp. He also never seemed to be taking the battle on Titan seriously and didn't use any tech based weapon in the fight so all we can assume for now is that he is a better version of Hulk, in which case i would say Strange wins via BFR.

Dr. Strange probably, but people underestimating Base Thanos a lot. This is a guy who wrecked Hulk and Ragnarok Thor without even getting any damage. Even a direct spaceship crash didn't bleed the guy. He is stronger, faster than Hulk. He caught Loki's knife. He caught Spider-man in close combat who was using Strange's dimensions, and Spider-man is easily a bulletimer as he was dodging from Starlord's blasts with ease. Thanos also dodged from Dr.Strange's blast by jumping towards it which wasn't an ability from the infinity gauntlet. In GoG 1, it has been stated that Base Thanos is the most powerful being in the universe, that's an insane hype considering there was Ego, Surtur etc. Probably they didn't add celestials in that list, but even without the celestials, that's a crazy hype in the vast MCU universe.

And the most interesting part of this battle is; Base Thanos > Maw, and Maw wasn't really any weaker than Dr.Strange, unless you believe Maw was being a side-kick to someone who is weaker than himself. Base Thanos has a really good chance to win this fight especially since BFR isn't allowed.

Strange wins because Thanos with 4 stones still had a hard time against Strange . Without stones, I reckon Strange will beat him . He's too much to handle .

Do people really think Thanos could beat Strange after Endgame?

@lan_fan: Strange can lose since he's a glass canon and Thanos can overwhelm him up close, but the chances are very small. Strange has the range. And the versatility to take a large majority.

Strange wins. Thanos has no counter to his hax. They literally had to make Strange stop a flood so he couldn't be involved with Thanos.

@rebake: Well, Strange could just teleport him to space where the cold, radiation, and lack of oxygen would kill him. That would kill him, therefore it shouldn't count as win by BFR.

Thanos. He can get his hands on him hes quick enough.

If Strange ALONE could defeat Thanos, what the hell was the last Endgame battle for?

Strange, Thor, Iroman and Ironwoman, Cap with Mjolnir, Cap Marvel, Valquiria, Hulk, Giant Man, Wasp, Hawkeye, War Machine, Winter Soldier, all of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther... And many more, where a joke to Thanos. They only defeated him by turning him to dust with the full Infinity Gaunlet. To presume Strange alone can win is absurd.
