thanos without the stones is literally just a dude with amazing fighting skills and strenght. putting him up against an omnipotent being like dormammu is a bit of a mismatch aha. if you give him atleast one stone then maybe there might be a match here?

@professorrespect: im guessing mcu dormammu would be very similar to the comic but probably nerfed just so that he can be beaten. But i do not think thanos would be able to beat him. he was a serious threat to the sorcerers so whos to say he isnt a threat to thanos

@professorrespect: That is true and i cant really argue against that. but lets be honest, marvel have done a pretty good job keeping characters where they are. low tier characters stay low tier and high tier stay high tier for the most part. in the comics dormammu is over thanos and marvel would keep it that way considering thanos is out of the picture and they are going to need bigger threats than the titan

With no stones, obviously Dormammu. And I’m pretty sure he is from another universe, so that statement wouldn’t even apply to him.

@professorrespect: If he had no durability strange would have one shot him

Furthermore strange couldn't do anything, but got alot of training from it.

Then the same strange was able to fight 4 gem thanos better than anyone else

Strange never tried to fight him. He simply used the Time Stone and looped his death until Dormammu gave up. Strange never even tried to fight him, so he has no durability feats.

Furthermore strange couldn't do anything, but got alot of training from it.

From dying tons? Sure.

Then the same strange was able to fight 4 gem thanos better than anyone else

And he still lost. Great job there lol

Base Thanos has more than enough to win.

@professorrespect: He lost against 4 stone thanos not base.

And u can see in the scenes he was becoming a better sorcerer and even managed to hold against a beam attack with his shield.

What's thanos going to do? He wouldnt even be able to reach him and the guy is astral

Yeah I read that, he still lost

The same beam that Iron man blocked? That's kinda meh

What's thanos going to do? He wouldnt even be able to reach him

How so? Dormammu has a physical form.

and the guy is astral

Define astral. If you mean intangible, you are wrong because Dormammu was able to squish Strange with his fist, thus disproving that. He's a physical being.

@professorrespect: when did ironman block dormammu beam? Strange did that and died couple seconds after.

But with thanos he turned his gem attack into butterflies.

You bring up the feat where he karate chops the rock but that is a durability feat aswell...

MCU's Doctor Strange handbook confirms that MCU Dormammu doesn't really have a physical form, but is instead some sort of space-time cloud.

He being able to squish Strange doesn't disapprove that, it only shows the character can make himself solid if wants to.

How long are you gonna be rolling this bait?

OT: Thanos needs the power of the stones to overcome Eldritch magic, Dr. Strange got better at it by getting destroyed by Dormammu over many, many loops. And even at peak prowess, he still needed the loop.

@professorrespect: What will happen doesn't matter, honestly. If Thanos crushes him or if the opposite happens, it's been heavily implied by the same handbook that Dormammu's form which appeared to Strange was likely a simply a construct by him. He should be able to create a new one if that's the case.

Beating him how, though? By destroying a construct that's possibly not even him? One that could create anew?

Now you bring in this "bait" nonsense? I refuse to acknowledge it.

An even better baiter wouldn't have ignored some of my points, in fact, would've been able to twist them at least.

Well, if Thanos tried that here, his fist wouldn't interact in that way, in the same way a solid fist is just going to enter the MD if it tried. Plus, if it could interact, those MD gates are tough - they can absorb building level destruction spells without issue.

Thanos hasn't smashed fodders with strikes tho, anti-feats are worse than being featless.

And Thanos doesn't even strike hard enough to quickly one-shot Dormammu before he goes incorporeal once more. Watch my special move, Professor. Crushes loose argumentation like Stalin did his own people, and solidifies diarrhea better than absolute zero.

But in order to talk to Strange at the end of the film, he’s taking that shape [and] you can feel all these ripples in his face and all that stuff… these kind of opening windows to other dimensions, and all the reflective qualities of it. We really wanted to add the evocation of that fire, but we didn’t want to do fire so we went for [a] multicolored approach to try and keep the psychedelic [look] of the entire space.

Dormammu is as dimensionally morphed as he wants. Thanos can't hurt him without 4-D striking, and Tesseract doesn't count.

Dorm is featless tho in terms of durability

And Thanos doesn't even strike hard enough to quickly one-shot Dormammu before he goes incorporeal once more.

False, Dormammu has no feats to say that he could tank a attack from Thanos

Proof?

It does, Thanos cracked it with his fingers, he can destroy Dormammu
