MCU: Bucky vs T'Challa

-Winter Soldier is in killmode (as he was in their second fight in Civil War).

-Winter Soldier is armed with a knife.

-Panther is in character but fighting to kill.

-Panther is unarmed and doesn't have his suit.

-They fight at the airport in Civil War.

-Neither has prior knowledge.

-Win by knockout.

Winter soldier in kill mode could take a fully geared Cap in my opinion he has the stats and better striking with his metal arm and he is fast enough to land some slashes to cripple T'Challa Bucky has this fight though it is close he his metal arm can put T'Challa down with a single shot to the spine or any other vital spot of the body.

even if you give T'Challa a knife and out of character, Bucky would still win.

both are relatively skilled but Bucky has bionic arm that can be used on parrying/blocking and overpowering T'Challa's strength.

In these conditions, Bucky should take the victory. T'Challa not having his suit is an issue.

T'Challa wins. The knife can easily be removed from the equation and T'Challa can take a stab or two. After that Buck's getting manhandled in H2H, WS mode or no.

Either that or T'Challa could kill him like the maneuver he did with Erik in their final fight.

T'Challa already beat him under these conditions. In CW.

BP is superhuman, he can still win with no Suit.

But won't be easy. Bucky didn't have a knife in the CW fight.

Bucky. Comparable skill, superior striking power and strength with the metal arm along with a weapon.

Except that he really didn't. Bucky was not in WS mode, he was in between assignments and on the run. WS mode is generally when he has a target as in TWS. They fought pretty evenly until BP broke out the claws and even then they were the only reason Bucky was on the defensive. Bucky was unarmed and on the defensive with no way to harm BP while trying to get away. Later at the airport we see a similar outcome. Without his suit BP would not have taken the direct bionic punches to the sternum and the uppercut that Bucky initially laid on him without injury. Here he doesn't have that protection or his claws, and Bucky has a knife. Bucky has shown the ability to get through BP's defenses. Bucky already showed us his knife skills in that excellent bridge fight in TWS. It won't be an easy fight but BP will get caught.

T'Challa. He handled him just fine in the CIA.

Bucky has literally no advantage, that little knife he has gets tossed. T'Challa is more skilled and his strength is superior to his metal arm. Argue against the facts all you'd like but the Black Panther enhancements are > Super Soliders. He handled him at the CIA while he was cray cray and he'll handle him again even worse since he's going for a kill and not just incap because he was at a government facility.

You claim I'm arguing against the facts but you're arguing that BP stomped him when he busted out of the CIA and Steve, Falcon, Tony (with only a single portable IM glove), and Sharon Carter all tried to stop him from escaping and BP finally engages him, they trade blows evenly, BP finally gets a nice jump kick in, Bucky falls down a floor, and when BP jumps down Bucky is long gone.

Yeah that's not a stomp man, not even close. It's not even handling him. If it were either of those then Bucky would not have escaped. These two fight evenly in every scene and Panther only wins out when he has the suit and claws. Trying to claim Pather is simply going to snatch a blade from someone who fights on par with him when he has no hand protection is ludicrous. If you have some evidence to back up BP's herb enhancement being better than Cap's serum enhancement I'll be happy to look at it, but until then I'm not going to accept your head canon.

T'challa imo, it's pretty close.

Full CIA scene with no cherry-picking. Bucky is clearly attempting to escape. He goes through Tony, Carter, and BW before BP even engages (not to mention Steve and security before that). After BP ambushes him, bucky knocks BP on his ass and is halfway up the stairs before BP can pursue. Bucky can clearly take BPs best hits and is unharmed. T'Challa can't overpower Bucky's arm with his whole upper body and no suit. He attempts a reversal to flip Bucky down the stairs but Bucky takes him with. Even after the full body kick and falling one story Bucky is unharmed and escapes onto a helicopter seconds later.

Let me be clear though. I've never been arguing Bucky stomps BP. This is a brutal fight which Bucky only takes a majority of due to starting with the knife. If BP had the knife I'd argue it the other way. These two are represented as generally equal in skill. BP has a more acrobatic style, but he needs that extra force to try to deliver any real punishment on Bucky who takes his regular punches with ease. Even that simply has the same effect on Bucky as Bucky's Bionic arm has on BP.

Full initial fight Scene where BP ambushes him and has the upper hand, but still has to uncork the claws and can't put Bucky down before interference occurs.

Airport scene where BP again needs his claws and armor and still Bucky acquits himself against the assault.

Bucky is trying to escape this whole movie. He's not trying to put BP down any more than he has to at any moment. BP on the other hand is trying to kill or at least severely beat him down in every encounter. Even with the suit and the claws he's not stomping Bucky, although he would probably succeed eventually with them.

I was gonna say Bucky but now I'm not sure. Could go either way.

In the fight where Bucky is brainwashed, he was pretty even with T'Challa. In the fights where he wasn't brainwashed, T'challa proved he was superior. Though, in this matchup, Bucky is brainwashed. Since Bucky does have also have knife, he will have a slight in the beginning of the fight, but will get disarmed after a while.

T'challa without the suit actually scales to Cap pretty well when it comes to strength, skill and durability. Both took a punch from Bucky's metal arm to chest, and were fine afterward. There fights against Bucky were also very similar, until Bucky escaped in his fight with T'Challa. I think that as the fight goes on, T'Challa would beat Bucky, similar to how Cap beat Bucky in there second fight. T'Challa may get stabbed once or twice, but I think he will endure the pain like Cap did, and will put Bucky to sleep with a headlock.

Throughout Civil War, there was only one fight where Bucky was in WS mode, and it was essentially a stalemate - but that was when T'Challa was morals off if not bloodlusted due to his father's death.

Now that he's in-character, I'd say Bucky should win this high-diff especially when armed with a knife.

Herbed T'Challa seemed only to struggle against Steve Roger's CapAm in a fight. He trounced Bucky both times they fought and one of them was while Bucky was bloodlusted and BP was without a suit.

Adding a knife to it may swing it though. I assume 'unarmed' means BP is without his vibranium ring as well, as that would definitely swing it back in BP's favor.

Regarding post #39, there's no such thing as a vibranium ring. T'Challa didn't respond because of his fathers ring but because he was realising he couldn't overpower the metal arm. Remember he did an arm lock on Bucky but he failed to succeed.

Winter Soldier-mode Bucky takes this. He made Steve struggle each and everytime, remember Steve managed to fight Warmachine and Black Panther in suit at the same time.

T'Challa

They'd probably split, roughly. T'Challa seemed to be marginally more skilled, while Bucky has superior striking due to his arm.

T'Challa still beats his ass. The whole "he was trying to escape" argument falls flat on its face for both fights when you realize

1. On the rooftop Bucky was the one who threw the first punch

2. In WS mode instead of barreling through everyone and running he tried to shoot a guard and strangle Black Widow.
