@arcus1: Maybe I miss read or imim misremembering but not only is she redirecting lightning she's actually bending it now.....and I don't mean just shooting it out of her fingers. She's shaping the lightning and has a variety of different attacks and uses with it.

Before we even get to her physical advantages and comparing tactics we have to look at offense here and as I see it Mako is gonna have a crap of a time defending against her and almost zero chance of actually hitting her.

In a pure lightning fight? This is completely unfair to Mako....

She's definitely gotten more versatile with her lightning, but I don't remember that much variety, at least not that would give her a huge edge over Mako, who's pretty good with lightning himself. His feat against the spirit core, simultaneously generating and redirecting lighting, is very impressive imo

How so? In terms of instant lightning generation, he's actually ko'ed people, but I don't think she has, and when bending in the spirit core he was simultaneously generating and redirecting lightning

@arcus1: My thing is that he's basically shooting in a straight line while she's changing the direction of hers. I swear in her previous comic she was hitting the field with lighting waves or something.

For all of Mako's actual feats of hitting things....her agility is leaps above his opponents. So maybe I'm stretching to call it a curbstomp...but when your beat in every stat and have no advantages against an opponent almost a tier above some of your best fights....its like what else do you call it?

@koays: if it comes down to a redirection battle (which is something I've always wanted to see-a fight between two lightning benders who can generate and redirect), I might give Mako an edge from his spirit core feats

She uses it much more than Mako and way more than she should use, also knows how to redirect and use it in different ways.

Speaking of comics, does anyone know when the LOK comics are coming out?

If it is just lightning, pretty sure Azula fries him with ease.

Imo Mako's best feat was simultaneously generating a continuous stream of lightning while redirecting the backlash against the spirit core in Kuvira's mech

I am going with Azula. Mainly because of this:

@arcus1: I think a redirect battle while awesome because ...well because rule of cool. Isn't something that Azula would let herself get stuck in...or would break off before it got too late. Idk i just don't see Mako doing much but prolonging a losing fight.

Lol maybe its just me, but I really don't have any interest in Legend of Korra expanded stories. Like they didn't really leave me with any questions about where things were going after the end of the story.

Though on that note I would love if they were aabout Korra flashing back to being old Avatars and reliving their old battles. Since the history stuff in Korra was pretty tight.

• So suddenly Azula has experience in lightning "more" than Mako so her lightning is automatically better?
• Mako's more powerful, he was absorbing spirit core energy, @incursion2 spirit energy was powerful enough to wreck a speeding freight train iirc
• Only lightning bending, but if you're talking h2h, I highly disagree, Mako has shown more modern combat skills that will aid him in an h2h fight
• Also Mako has better combat speed showings with his lightning

I'd actually argue Mako has more experience in using lightning than Azula does. She was a skilled practitioner of it, true, but generating lightning was LITERALLY Mako's day job. Which is probably why he's so good at both generating and redirecting it.

@llehdevil: 1.Her lightning is more powerful, but it takes her more time because she charges it(the books however give her plenty of good feats). 2.He did not absorb the core's energy he just fried it with lightning. 3. H2H Azula, I would say is better, she owned Suki and Ty le in the recent book. 4. Mako is faster because his is less potent, but she is faster in general she was fighting Aang for a good time

Rrrriiiight... Cause Mako didn't redirect and direct a core of Spirit Energy for a prolonged period of time.

Mako for a clear majority. His instant lightning is better, and his feats against the spirit core are a huge advantage in a lightning battle. He can simultaneously generate a stream of lightning and redirect anything Azula uses. Azula can take a minority via H2H though.

Azula literally doesn't need bending to beat Mako.

@amendment50: She can ever since Smoke & Shadow. She learned the technique observing it in her fights with Zuko.

Sure he does. Azula can redirect a single bolt of lightning. Mako can generate a continuous stream of lightning (which Azula doesn't have the feats to redirect) while simultaneously redirecting a continuous stream of lightning (dealing with all of Azula's offense).

Furthermore, his instant lightning is much stronger by feats.

If Azula gets into a lightning battle with Mako, she's going to lose. Her only chance is to close the gap and go for H2H, but based on S&S she's much more likely to try and win this with lightning.

Do you mean with Mako being restricted to lightning, or against an unrestricted Mako?

The Azula from the comics stomps, she is faster, more agile, more durable and more skilled than Mako, her lightning bending is also much better than his and she has redirection now.

Azula schools Mako in both of the rounds, he has much to learn but it would be the last training session of his life.
