Could Mace beat Anakin and Obi Wan in the opening fight of RotS?
Round 1: Canon
Round 2: Legends
Mace gets absolutely destroyed as he lacks Dooku's experience in fighting Obi and Ani and his skill in fighting multiple enemies. Additionally, he's also weaker force wise. In canon, it's more difficult as Mace fought off Sidious for a time, though he was probably holding back.
R1: can go either way, probably team though
R2: Team stomps, Anakin could solo.
@tj849: LOL. No way bud. He gets stomped in Legends, and still loses canon.
@rkelly: Yes. 6/10 at least
@odinvsdormmy: You a new youtuber? No way Mace wins. Anakin can solo him.
@sirfizzwhizz: Are you trying to use this for our CaV? lol
@killerwasp: nah, but it got me thinking.
@sirfizzwhizz: To make this fair, you should have chose Mace and Maul vs Anakin and Obi Wan instead.
Opening scene on Invisible Hand? If it had been Mace there instead of Dooku?
Mace is going done in the same manner regardless of Vaapad. Anakin did allow his rage to consume him (he began losing at that time) but then he controlled it. It's still skirting the dark side, but Anakin is stronger than Mace with a saber no matter what relying on Lucas approved scaling used in the movie. Feats be damned for this. That fight defined Anakin and set up the creation of Vader. I think that the first duel is the PERFECT time for Anakin to fight Windu because he had no confliction at that time as opposed to when he fought Kenobi on Mustafar.
@redheathen: Based on accolades for Legends.
"Skywalker is arguably the most powerful Jedi alive, and he is still getting stronger."

Anakin Skywalker's rise to power was astonishing. He went from being a slave on Tatooine to one of the most powerful Jedi ever.

An embarrassment you can survive, Lord Tyranus. After all, he is the greatest Jedi alive, is he not?"
Source: Revenge of the Sith
This is Anakin Skywalker:
The most powerful Jedi of his generation. Perhaps of any generation. The fastest. The strongest. An unbeatable pilot. An unstoppable warrior. On the ground, in the air or sea or space, there is no one even close. He has not just power, not just skill, but dash: that rare, invaluable combination of boldness and grace.
He is the best there is at what he does. The best there has ever been. And he knows it.

@sirfizzwhizz: sure sure, I see how it is.

And thus winneth Anakin.
Windu's a better combatant than Dooku (margins aren't necessarily small either) so while he doesn't get battered as hard as the Count does, and lasts a bit longer, he's still absolutely going down.
>Kenobi explicitly being stated to let go of his attachment to Anakin
>Kenobi being hindered due to facing Anakin based on nothing
Pick one.
@rkelly: yeeees
>Kenobi explicitly being stated to let go of his attachment to Anakin
Didnt happen thay way at all, even in the RoTS Novel after he let go the fight was described as only Him vs Anakin:
With Anakin's grip on his wrists bending his arms near to breaking, forcing both their lightsabers down in a slow but unstoppable arc, Obi Wan let go. Of everything. His hopes. His fears. His obligation to the Jedi, his promise to Qui-Gon, his failure with Anakin. And their lightsabers.
This was not Sith against Jedi. This was not light against dark or good against evil; it had nothing to do with duty or philosophy, religion or morals.
It was Anakin against Obi-Wan.
Revenge Of The Sith
>Kenobi being hindered due to facing Anakin based on nothing
Do you ever get tired of lying?:
But that's not really true, Obi-Wan thought as he ducked and wove and parried. Both he and Anakin felt the anguish of their need to kill the other. But Anakin had turned to the dark side, and despair and pain strengthened the dark side. It gave him an advantage Obi-Wan could not match. Unless he let go of his own despair and the let the living Force move him -- the Force that bound all living things together, even Obi-Wan and this new, deadly, evil Anakin.
It was hard. It was perhaps, the hardest thing he had ever tried to do. For in letting go of his anguish, his despair, and his pain, he would have to let go of the Anakin who was his student, his brother, and his dearest friend. He'd have to admit that this time, he could not save the man who had saved his life so many times, whose life he had saved at least as often.
Obi-Wan couldn't do it. As the collection tower sank farther into the lava, he looked for a way to escape.
Revenge of the Sith Junior Novelization
Obiwan bested a tier 9 Anakin handily while both were hindered as per the novel, as per nick Gilliard, as per the Jr novel. You are wrong.
Pick one.
Dismissed.
Hilarious.
How about you actually take everything into account and post quotes pertaining to the end of the fight?
Yes, sure, he's hesitant at the beginning, but as the fight progresses he lets go of his attachment to Anakin and does what he has to do.
Don't run your mouth until you actually know your stuff. Same applies to your fan-fictions on Sidious vs Mace.
Team wins. But with more trouble. Mace is more powerful and skilled than Dooku and won’t indulge in games like he would.
R1: Obi Wan and Anakin
I can't speak on legends, not familiar with it.
I just seen a video about Sam Jackson playing mace windu yesterday and they showed a clip from a cartoon that i guess is supposed to be in canon with the movies having Windu squeeze Gen. Greivous heart with the force, almost killing him. If mace uses deadly tactics like that could he be able to win?
Clone Wars Mace loses
ROTS Mace wins as much as I'm loathed to say
No.
It comes down to whether or not you think Mace was legitimately competing with Sidious. I think that was Lucas's intention, even though I hate the decision as it completely ignores Mace's previously established power scaling as Dooku's equal and undermines Sidious' own power.
@sirfizzwhizz: It would happen the same way as Anakin and Obi-Wan vs Dooku in Episode 3, but here, with destructive force powers maybe
@hope_w: So, Obi-Wan not using the dark side to feed on his own fears for power due to being a Jedi = he's hindered? Huh? Or am I misunderstanding you here?
And, Anakin probably solos. Once he starts using his anger, which, considering his apparent hate towards Windu and general anger as of ROTS would definitely happen rather quickly, he would overwhelm Mace. Either way, the Team definitely wins.
Hilarious.
Comical tbh.

This was directly stated after obi wan let everything go. However he clearly still acknowledged his enemy and task at hand as directly stated afterwards.
Yes, sure, he's hesitant at the beginning, but as the fight progresses he lets go of his attachment to Anakin and does what he has to do.
Concession accepted, therefore Obi wan was hindered as well in this duel.

Legends-Canon is fanfiction now? Wonderful, your not only dismissed but ignored due to lack of evidence and supporting argument. Good day to you sir, Mace still threeshots.
