Mace > Sidious (in terms of saber combat) > Anakin
KFV v Sidious in pure sabers is very debatable.
Vader, without Vaapad(which requires force use) Mace doesen't stand a chance
Mace didn't use Vapaad against him in canon. That's a Legends thing.
@frozen: Vaapad is Canon as well.
To my knowledge its nothing like what it was in Legends. His fight with Sidious doesn't have the same amount of context as it did in Legends.
@frozen: The novels are considered Disney Canon as they align with the movie. The novel describes Vaapad's mechanisms throughout the fight which in no way contradict the movie. Therefore, Vaapad is Canon as well.
There are also sourebooks which recognize Vaapad as well.
The ROTS novel? As far as I know that's definitely not canon.
@w4nkdestroyer: I heard he deleted that tweet, thus making it invalid.
This would be a close fight that could go either way. I would go with Mace as he is more mentally stable and experienced.

Seems to still be up
@hey_thatsmildlyadequate: @w4nkdestroyer: Hmm it does seem to still be up. I remember something that disputed it though. From what I understand the jr. novels were reprinted and can be used, but the old novels are defintiely questionable.

Pablo Hidalgo outright said the ROTS novel wasn't canon.
@frozen: Scan? Also who is he and why does he get the ultimate say on this(I'm not incredibly familiar with Lucasfilms hierarchy)
Mace wins, he would just reflect Anakin´s darkness against him while using the shatterpoint to see the weaknesses of Anakin´s fighting style.

Tweet is gone though because he got rid of his Twitter account.
There's a reason the novelizations are never used in canon debates. Too many contradictions and don't really have a seal of approval.
@frozen: I'm aware of the contradictions, but DelRay did clarify that the parts of them that line up with the movie are canon.
Also I'm not sure that his reasoning for ROTS being non canon even makes sense. "if it were canon, he'd be thinking of Ahsoka." But Ahsoka is in legends as well, so is the novel not legends either? Kinda weak reasoning tbh

Parts of them may, but I wouldn't confidently say that the Mace v Sidious fight lines up.
