They have same speed and strength but not equal durability. It depends on who's strength is being equalized to.

If you equalize to Luffy then luffy oneshots, Deki can't hurt Luffy since no haki.

Equalize to Deku and Luffy still wins because durability advantage.

Only Deciding Factors are Skill, Technique, and Strategy.

Luffy pummels him stats equal or not. You see Sky, now is a good time for Observation Haki.

Luffy is way more skilled than Deku in CQC and just combat in general IMO. It doesn't help that the gum gum fruit and the way he uses it is more complex than Gentle(one of the most complex combatants he fought in the series so far) especially when you factor in snakeman. Deku would have to deal with curved punches coming at him in the most absurd angles, punches the size of giants, and a fighting style that abuses long, mid and close range combat at the same exact time in the most unpredictable fashion.

Luffy because deku won’t be able to actually damage him while luffy can damage deku.

Adding on precog and armament haki just makes it easier for luffy.

IMO Luffy Wins . As Luffy has to deal with speed and strength on par with his and as far as ranged attacks go with Deku's Air Force Technique. But Factor in Snakeman and this is over very quickly.

All stats are equalized? This is about who is more skilled and smarter? Does Luffy have stuff like precog still?

Still Luffy, Haki makes it unfair and as long as he has devil fruit powers Izuku can't hurt him even with equal strength. Also "equal stats" is somewhat unspecific here as they can both boost stats.

Honestly, I would go as far as to say East Blue Luffy is skilled enough to beat Deku.

It would be interesting. But Midoriya's training currently is more focused on his physical prowess rather than his hand to hand skill. Even with equalized stats rubber would make Luffy a bad matchup for Midoriya by default. As his only means of damage is blunt force. He might be able to do some crafty stuff with his shoes and kick in a way that acts like slashing. But it would not really help him much due to Aramament Haki. Some might think Future Sight makes the fight completely unwinnable now. But even though that is a new development. Luffy did have precognition long before Future Sight so it was still unwinnable even a year ago too. Luffy and Midoriya both have the same amount of willpower honestly. As they are both Shonen MCs. But Luffy's rubber body would allow him to take more damage and push himself further. Not sure what the OP was thinking when making this thread. Midoriya versus a stat equalized Sanji with no Haki would be better.
