Lucifer Morningstar: The character famous by Neil Gaiman's Sandmanm later to have his own series.
The 1st of the Fallen: John Constantine's major rival in both Garth Ennis' and Paul Jenkins' Hellblazer runs.
Lucifer Morningstar Vs. The 1st of the Fallen
First don't insult people you do not know or anyone on these boards for that matter, it's not only uncalled for, but also childish." I have to give The 1st of the Fallen the slight edge, since his stories are enjoyed by real Vertigo fans, not just the Neil Gaiman fanboys and Fangirls who only read Neil Gaiman work. "
Second:
I 'm a real Vertigo fan, and I love lots of Vertigo lines that have nothing to do with Gaiman, even if I like Lucifer. But we're talking about power demonstrated and there it's not even a contest. Lucifer is much more powerful, if you've read his comics you'll see why. Popularity has nothing to do with it anyway
I personally find Lucifer cooler then the First of the Fallen, even as a Constantine fan. But again, that is not the issue, the issue in a battle is power and cunning and Lucifer beats the snot out of the first of the Fallen
That said my favorite Vertigo line these days is Fables.
your right. My bad, I didn't mean to insult.
I was just rambling. I thought the "Battle" threads were suppose to be the heated topics, so I loaded the statement. Lucifer had his own series, his character is better developed. Like I said, it was a loaded question. I guess I am still getting my feet wet here. It was my mistake and I hope there is no hard feelings.
I honestly didn't mean to offend.

It's true that arguments can get quite heated in this particular board, and people often devolve into uncalled for behavior. The purpose of course is to discuss battle between characters in a fun way. Unfortunately this doesn't always happen. Even I'm guilty of being impolite or childish at times. Anyway, water under the bridge and all that. Alls cool
With this in mind, to get back on topic, based on reading both. I still think Lucifer takes this easy as he's shown to have done truly epic feats.
" Lucifer Morningstar, no contest. He'll not only whoop his butt, he'll make him beg. "

" Lucifer wins, First of the Fallen said so himself...in Ennis' run continuity had to be preserved so it was decided the First had come to Hell before Lucifer but upon Lucifer's arrival he was no match so he shrunk into the shadows...even after Lucifer left he was never the ruler of Hell, he mentions his hatred for how Duma and Remiel are ruling over Hell since they have no place there the First was a cool character but apart from being more evil then Lucifer, his power doesn't really compare "

" But of course. I meant that I was finally able to (articulate?) it in a way that it was a worthwhile argument in a battle thread, yay! "You're selling yourself short. Pretty sure we had exchanges in other Vertigo related threads, in which I agreed with you.

"Not really. Constantine would have to have everything tip in his favor just to have a shot.A better battle would have been Constantine against Morningstar. But Lucifer should win easily here.

More like a favor from the Presence himself. lol
You underestimate that sneaky cheeky b@stard. He has fared well against many vastly more powerful than him with an attitude that is not that different from Lucifer. If it is just a physical, mystical battle than Constantine snuffs it. But in a battle of wits and wiles these two would be epic.

Oooooh.
Is this a spite thread?
And I got a question. Does Lucifer exist in the Hellblazer continuity? If he does, then does he take over hell after FOTF?
And I haven't read much of Lucy but from what I hear, he aint as evil as the First. Is that why he is far more powerful, despite FOTF being the primeval being created by God?
I was under the impression that FOTF was the guy who ruled hell before Lucifer crashed into it, and generally stayed out of sight as long as Lucifer remained in hell. So I'd say Lucifer is the more powerful of the two.
Savage Hulk stomps both,he has unlimited strength...and he'll only get stronger when his foes land attacks on him.
@johnanderson: lol, savage Hulk gets stomped by both.
@johnanderson: lol, savage Hulk gets stomped by both.
Typical butthurt fanboy who knows nothing about the Hulk.
@johnanderson: lol. Hulk loses against Spider-Man, how can he stand a chance against being who can warp reality, is immortal and is nigh omniscient?

Hulk was being nice in their encounter.
However a blood lusted Hulk will quickly adapt and successfully counter both entity's powers.
Reality warping and immortality do not work on Hulk, sorry.
@johnanderson: Lucifer blinks and Hulk is erased from existence. End of story.
Hellblazer is a sub-section of the Vertigo continuity with a quasi-relationship to Sandman.
FOTF is in fact the first Demon of Vertigo, the real Satan, but because Neil Gaiman came up with his own interpretation of the Devil, this created problems because of the differences.
Thus, it was established a compromise, that FOTF (Satan of Hellblazer) is a separate, but co-occurring character with Lucifer (Satan of Sandman). The former being a true demon, the latter, a fallen angel.
