This fight isn’t possible given that Mihawk has literally 0 feats. I feel like Mihawk is such a strange topic because he’s Zoro’s end goal so he should conceptually be really up there, but I feel like Oden is more impressive given that he scarred Kaido and could’ve potentially finished him.
@xanadu253: Mihawk isn’t featless...quite literally the first time he appears he slices a galleon in half and mismatches Zoro.
During the war he has his slash sent against Jozu, his duel with Vista and his frozen tsunami slice.
What he lacks is serious feats, showings of him going all out or putting in effort, a serious all out duel with a peer: Jozu here doesn’t count since that was little more than a glorified spar plus Mihawk was literally daydreaming about Luffy’s charisma and wasn’t even looking at Jozu during their fight and he kept the same impassive expression, Jozu as well had a fat grin on his face so neither were treating it more than a light test of skill.
You can make a strong case for either Oden or Mihawk being above the other in hype but we have nothing what so ever to discuss with accuracy who would win via feats and portrayal so this is yet another silly One Piece thread.
@socajunkie: I was exaggerating with the 0 feats but you clearly understood what I meant that his feats don’t measure up in a fight with end game characters.
@mizzoking: wtf
It's kind of impossible to say at the moment but if I had to go by gut feeling I'd pick Oden. But I also don't think of Mihawk as being on par with any of the Yonko despite his title so make of that what you will
Oden still has the greatest feat of 1v1 power in the verse. But Mihawk is probably more skilled with the blade. It'll probably end in an instant.
@ninelven: that's speculation about kiado/mihawk
Oden clashed with Newgate, who was at the time, the strongest man. And kiado, who had already achieved emporer status, stalled for time by holding hostages when he knew Oden was back in wano.
By hype, Mihawk wins high diff.
By feats, Oden wins high diff.
So for now, Oden. But people should note Kaido's statement that "there will never be a samurai as fearsome as Oden"- if that's not signalling Zoro causing some major damage on Kaido in the near future, I don't know what is. Obviously he won't solo Kaido, but he may well do enough to make Kaido eat his words.
And given that Mihawk will likely be the final boss for Zoro, and given that he rivals Shanks, it would be fair to predict Mihawk will proven to be above Oden by the end of the series.
Mihawk outclasses him entirely. If Oden couldn't take out a younger/weaker Kaido there is no way he's beating Mihawk.
Mihawk probably.
Mihawk has to be at least Big Mom level to be relevant to the future plot of One Piece.
Mihawk doesn't have as many feats as oden but at the same time he literally isn't putting any real effort into the ones he does have & there all still very impressive
But I can't give him the W without some solid evidence so I'll say oden 4 now but that'll probably change in the future
Mihawk didn't have the strongest swordsman title during Oden's era. (Roger had a sword) It is easy to forget that Shanks was a just a child while apart of the same crew as Oden and looking up to him. Mihawk was shown to be teenager at Roger's execution? So 5 years later from that time frame Oden passes.
You also run into weird complications like Mihawk being above Shanks and Big Mom with this narrative.
