These are their movie versions.
Both get a month for prep and they are in character
Location is on the playground
Who wins?
Is movie Maleficent hammy?
She is a beast upfront and with her army. She is a tad hammy compared to the Disney version but I liked her. She would win if there wasn't any prep. what she would command would happen at the flick of wrist. But since loki has prep he would get the upper hand.
Maleficent may be better with magic, but Loki is much more durable I'd say. And I'm assuming Loki has his scepter, which should be enough to give Loki the win.
@those_eyes: whats hammy mean?

exaggerated or overly theatrical.
If the location is at the playground, then Maleficent is at a disadvantage from the metal. So, I think Loki would beat her. However, if it was in her turf, I think she would win.

Near the forest? Yae she pretty much couldn't be beaten in the forest.
Since Movie versions is implied i assume its both Disney Movie versions, and Maleficent can just go Dragon.
Loki has done next to nothing with prep. Other than manipulating people with prep, he done nothing. Maleficent base on both movies (which are canon with each other as different point of views) is going to win.
@leo-343: the New Movie Malifecent is the same as the Old Movie as they directly reference the old movie as different point of views of how the story went down.
As for prep, prep is used to et objects or create something to help. Loki never created anything or grabbed anything special with prep. Outside help is just that, unless you expect Loki to call in Thor or something.
@wolfrazer: also the new movie referenced the old movie and a knowledge it as a different perspective. So both should be considered.
It doesn't say prior knowledge, so I say maleficent, because her only other weakness is needing to be loved so I don't see Loki being able to manipulate her.
Okay so I'm just assuming it's the live action version of both. Isn't there a rule stating that if the op doesn't specify as to which incarnation of the character is being used then we have to use the latest one?
Anyways, Loki does have rather decent prep feats but maleficent was able to defeat a king who has prepared for her for sixteen years. All and all I believe that maleficent should take this do to better magic showing near limitless capabilities while Loki has really only shown illusions and energy blasts with his scepter. There was the mind control thing but I doubt that would play well here. And if maleficent has her wings then she wins.
So do to better magic, prep being null and void and the flight advantage maleficent should take this

The version from once upon a time is the most current version of malificent. idk if we should use her or not.
@those_eyes: Isn't that the tv show though? This is just movies
I’m on team Maleficent.
The only thing Loki has done in strategic planning has to do with his illusions and mind-control. While the could work a couple times, Maleficent wouldn’t go down to simple energy blasts. If Loki is carrying a weapon, it better be made of iron, otherwise he isn’t standing a chance against her.
