I'd say Kurenai. Genjutsu is in her favor and I know Sakura is good at getting out of it but Kurenai's genjutsu traps your whole body in a tree including your arms which exclude you from doing hand seals and also Ninjutsu is also in her favor.

At this point Sakura is already a Jounin by pre shippuden standards..

@marc_55: If you say so... I think Ibiki and Kakashi should be better users. Well maybe not Kakashi. I only give him that because of his Sharingan. Is Kurenai a better Genjutsu user than the 3rd? @mee09: Yes, it was never noncanon. Ibiki isn't a Genjutsu user, he only attacks the mind like the Yamanaka Clan does. Kisame only feared his ability to get information from his comrades, that's why he killed them.

Even so, Ibiki is just a more ruthless interrogator and a sadist. That doesn't make him a better Genjutsu user.

Hiruzen knew every jutsu in the village. He is pretty relevant.

That said, those stats are only relative to themselves, they're not meant for comparison.

What did Ibiki do that impressed you so much? The only way he'd be considered more dangerous is because of his personality.

If she can solo Kisame to the point that he is apparently helpless. That puts her second to Might Guy. Not Kakashi. She should be above Killer Bee by a stupid amount. I really hope you are over-exaggerating that like I just did with Ibiki. (I do actually believe that he would beat Kurenai in a fight though). Why did she just sit at home watering flowers?

Also, no one ever claimed she can solo Kisame, and Naruto doesn't work like that anyway.

@marc_55: I'm pretty sure somebody said "He was literally helpless". And "Kisame would've lost to Kurenai's Genjutsu if it wasn't for Itachi". If those statements are true. Then she would be above Killer Bee. And every single Jonin in Konoha except Might Guy.

@mee09: I said that, because he was helpless. Asuma had him distracted and he fell for her Genjutsu. Without Itachi, they could've easily killed him. But at no point did I say she can solo Kisame.

Naruto does not work that way. Kisame is made for fighting Jinchuriki, but Bee is above him anyway. You're trying to scale them linearly, but that's not how this show works.

@mee09: She's a specialist in a method of jutsu he has no counter for, that doesn't make her a better fighter than Guy or Killer B. This isn't simple Arithmetic where each ninja's skills can be quantified, hell this isn't even a rock paper scissors thing.

@marc_55: Bee isn't above Kisame. Kisame only "lost" to Bee because his sword turned against him. How does Bee avoid a Genjutsu Kisame couldn't? I mean his best friend is Itachi. You'd think he could avoid Kurenai's. But I guess not.

Asuma wouldn't have done anything to Kisame by himself. It was all Kurenai. She nearly broke her back carrying him.

@mee09: Bee is above Kisame, he was restricting himself because he didn't want to be found by the Raikage. Bee has a Biju, and is on good terms with him, Genjutsu isn't working on him, as we've literally seen in series.

No idea where that last line came from, but it's not even accurate, it also ignores my actual statements. I never said anything about Asuma beating Kisame by himself.

In Sasuke shinden, when people in konoha fail prey to Chinoike, Kakashi seek help of Sakura not Kurenai to release them drom genjutsu. Kakashi knows much better than all of u.

That Sakura has a nice strong defense on Genjustu and she was a pretty nice fighters in the beginning of the series but at that point I say Kurenai wins high difficulty she has more experience and fighting .

Sakura could win after the Pein fight because of more medical skills

Kurenai FTW. She's still more skilled than Sakura, who at the start of Shippuden was more or less a Class 10-15 brick with some limited medical ninjutsu. Her best feat is being Lady Chiyo's proxy puppet against Sasori, who IIRC kind of threw that fight.

Kurenai should stomp with Genjutsu. Though not having too many feats of anything. Hype and Itachi's comments commending her Genjutsu should be enough against someone with arguably not much Genjutsu defence. If it was against E.o.S that would be vastly different.

Sakura low dif. Part 1 Sakura was broken stronger genjutsu than what Kunerai have shown. Example being Kabuto's A rank genjutsu. Sakura intellect and chakra control break her out of it. Not to mention Sakura seems to have a sixth sense for detecting genjutsu, most likely due to her perfect control of her chakra .

Examples being

About to counter a genjutsu that only the Leaf's Jonin was about to counter, and she noticed it instantly, It didn't even effect her. Same with the chunnin exam genjutsu. She noticed without even really paying attention. Noting that she was on the second floor.

Kakashi and Sasuke states that Sakura is higly resistant to genjutsu, because she herself is a genjutsu type. Sasuke only develope superior resistant to Sakura in part 2, post timeskip, according to the data book.

And the last movie just confirmed it if you need proof. Kunerai normally cast a genjutsu and then strikes, and her coming in h2h combat with Sakura lead to her dead.

And She sort of already resisted Itachi's finger genjutsu, She was watching his hands keenly when he activated it and was unphased by it. She only broke Naruto free of it a couple of seconds later

If this isn't a mismatch I dont know what is.

@empathric: that wasn't the actual itachi, next you'll show naruto using the odama rasengan on the fake itachi and say naruto can beat itachi 1v1.

None of this matters, she has never released genjutsu as strong as kurenais who got praise from itachi and put kisame under genjutusu, the guy who is a partner with probably the best genjutusu user in the show.

At no point will this become a physical fight, genjutusu gg stabbed in the head.
