Firs off, GoW 3 Kratos would have tof ight GL in order for there to be a fight. Next, GoW 1? Seriously?

Kratos is an ex Spartan general with a genius military mind, here he has access to all his GOW 1 powers like Pandora's box which enabled him to kill Ares. Ares wiped out a whole battle field of barbarians with but a mere thought and Kratos killed him when he went all out, Ares also made a pocket universe but Kratos was still more powerful than him so there you have it, GL dies
