@hope_w: Bumi can bend without moving. He should be able to attack Toph without her knowing.
King Bumi Vs. Toph
@p00ty: Toph senses earth mid-air, he wont be able to move the element without her knowing which is a huge factor IMO. I also can see her exploiting speed honestly; Bumi does have Mobility but Toph has shown the same ability and it wouldnt be reaching at all to assume Toph could ride the carts in Omashu similarly to the way he could.
A case can be made for both sides but I just think toph has more options here.
Bumi whoops her ass. Even 86-year-old Toph couldn't match the feats of 112-year-old Bumi.
Think of it this way: would you rather have Toph or Bumi protecting you from kemurikage Azula in a fight? I sure as hell know that I'd rather be protected by Bumi...
during the last airbender series toph can only use metalbending at very close range; to pull two sheets of metal together and restrain, to use as a shield, or to use as a full body armor. She is not going to catch bumi with metal bending as he can literally launch himself in the air while simultaneously launching earth bending attacks with the swing of his head. His way of fighting is far too unpredictable for toph to keep up with.

She’s said in the comics if she’s close enough to the metal for you to see it, she can bend it. And has used it in other ways than what you’ve said.
@thewatcherking: for me to see it or for her to see it? And I am referring to the show since I don't read the comics.
I can’t understand why everyone thinks Bumi will win, I always found toph to be more impressive.

Bumi has greater raw power, Toph has greater versatility. Toph can easily react to whatever Bumi throws at him given her senses with the ground, but her own attacks won't be enough to overwhelm Bumi's greater raw power.
It's an example of an unstoppable force (Bumi) crashing with an immovable object (Toph)
Stalemate.
How does Toph deal with Bumi throwing a city at her?

Maybe she holds it up? I'm thinking of the library feat, it was pretty massive. Or she could try burrowing underground.
How do Toph's fights against Yaling in Imbalance, specially in Part 3, affect all your opinions about the outcome of a fight between Toph and Bumi? Also, Toph asked Aang for help to hold up a big building in Imbalance Part 1, but still nowhere near as big as the library.
Toph has far more raw power. Library feat >>>>>>> statue feat
Bumi will win though because Toph has still never won a 1v1 against anyone notable opponent
@emmafrostxmen: How is it greater?
Are there any calcs suggesting as such?
@king789: it’s visibly bigger lol and it actually took her visibly less strain
@emmafrostxmen: Okay but are there any calcs proving the feat is actually greater.
I believe they fought to a draw in the comics. I'm sure she passed him in her prime
True, but Bumi's 112 years old haha. 12 is nowhere near prime, but which do you really is closer to prime: preteen or super-duper senior to the point where you're old enough to be the grandfatherof a grandfather?
Think about how much weaker, slower, and less durable people are in their 80s. Toph herself is a prime example of this in her 80s in "The Legend of Korra." Yet Bumi is the monster that he is at 112 years old. Toph is only a decade away from her prime, whereas Bumi is 3 decades past when most people actually die.
Bumi at 112 years old is objectively more impressive than Toph at 12 years old (much stronger and more durable to the point where Azula didn't even dare challenge him).
Maybe teenager Toph (14-going-on-15-year-old Toph in the comics) could match him, but that's still not that impressive, given that Bumi's 112.
Bumi even in his 50s (let alone 20s or 30s) must have been better than Toph at any point in her life, including her prime 20s and 30s.
The fact that Bumi is still more impressive than Toph at 112 years old is more impressive for him than it is for 12 year old her. Imagine trying to fight a 12-year-old in even your 80s, let alone in your triple digits, an age to which most don't even live.

Toph gets clapped in this fight after that. Bumi would never lose to Yaling. Honestly, add Yaling on Toph's team to make this fight even remotely competitive. And for people going "oh, but experience and Toph's not in her prime"... umm, Bumi is 112 years old. He is so past his prime. Bumi in his middle ages should smoke prime Toph, and Bumi in his prime shouldn't even be a fight against Toph... he'd straight up kill her.
