I missed the part that this takes place in the caves of the air temple, in this location, the team wins. There is not enough room for bumi to maneuver, or use his large scale attacks while the team can flood the caves with lava easily.

Bumi dives underground and throws the entire cave at them. Literally a ridiculous matchup if we're being honest.

@asshat_zeppeli: The Lavabenders are a hard counter to Bumi. Bumi never crushed anybody in that fashion and Bolin can dive underground as well.

The problem for them is that Bumi bends too large and too fast for them to safely convert his attacks into lava.

Bumi is an obscenely powerful character, aside from bloodbenders only a handful of characters could challenge him(Avatars((Wan, Roku, Aang, Korra)), Toph, Katara, maybe but not really combustion benders).

I think this location actually favours Bumi more, since Ghazan died by collapsing a cave on himself. Bumi could easily put them in quick sand, tunnel around and bring down the cave on the duo team. He was the raw power and skill to do so.

@anthp2000: Bumi is from a time period in which bending wasn't as advanced or as refined.

but seriously, neither Bolin nor Ghazan stand a chance alone. Their lava bending won't save them from Bumi collapsing the cave in on them

Bumi is being extremely overrated here but I do think he wins with high difficulty.

Bumi wins 1 on 1. Bolin is top 5 most underrated character and so is Ghazan.

He's definitely superior to either one of them individually, but in character, Ghazan would be going for the kill, not Bumi, and an unrealistically perfect coordination on the team's part may be enough to sway this hypothetical in the teams favor.

Imo, the idea of them working in perfect coordination is laughable given what we know of them, but if these two have this out of character buff while everything else stays in character I think team should take it, people underestimate Ghazan, who is arguably the most powerful of the RL. If you think I'm underselling KB, it's because I esteem the members of the RL so highly.

he gets lowdiffed here and would get high diffed in a 1v1 fight with either LOK bender. His attack speed is only slightly above average and hes very stationary so a traditional earthbender with lava is enough, but one who's a probender and by s4 has displayed more versatility by using traditional bending styles is just a bad match up.

Whats confusing about what I said? Lavabending is a direct counter to Earthbending and traditional earthbending is very stationary. Hes going against two benders that will constantly force him to move and that can negate and return any attack he throws at them. He doesnt have anything that would suggest that he could blitz them, and Bolins modernist earthbending style is a direct counter to most earthbenders due to it being focused on moving around and being quick and precise. All that he has on Bolin and Ghazan is raw power but that doesnt mean much when Lavabending pretty much oneshots on hit and will negate his attacks
