2. Gambit. John is bisexual and he has no idea about the hipnotic charm of Gambit so he wouldn't be immune to it.

3. Gambit. Come on, poker is his thing. No magic no powers and I pressume no cheating allowed. Gambit all the way.

I could se John gaining the upper hand in all encounters if he's allowed to us his magic or prep time.
