This will get locked, but, in the meanwhile, Darkseid has so many ways to win this fight that it's ludicrous. Depending on the version, a simple dose of TP can end this fight.

I know this is going to be locked soon so discussion is pointless but Darkseid's hax doesn't have enough to give him an edge against Jiren's speed and damage output. Thanos could beat Jiren in a very close fight but not Darkseid.

Jeez how has this thread stayed up for this long.

@empressofdread: Same here. Thanos should have LESS of a chance. Jiren is 110% multiversal and Thanos struggles with nerfed Galactus. At least Darkseid has the Omega Beam which won't work because of Jiren's aura and far less durable people have tanked it.

@mee09: I don't think Jiren is anywhere close to Multiversal. Though I think he defeats Darkseid handily, Thanos should have more chance IMO as he has better consistency with his powers. Darkseid has more powers but he has used them properly only on a few occasions.

I think Thanos might have a better shot with his TP but going by the fact that many decent tiers in Db have shown TP, including Jiren himself, he may be able to resist it. Also, if the rules include verse equalization then Jiren definitely would ignore it since in DB more Ki pretty much negates Hax.

But I agree with you that Thanos has a better chance in characters since he is more of a tactical fighter who uses his hax compared to Darkseid who prefers to brawl more often than not.

Probably. As I said, Thanos is more of a tactical fighter who uses most of his hax to his advantage compared to Darkseid who tries to rely on his brute strength more often than not. And that won't fly with Jiren.

Jiren would decimate Darkseid in CQC. The Omega beams, however, might be trouble but their effects and usefulness are hard to precisely figure out since sometimes they one-shot even Superman and sometimes, they do nothing.

@empressofdread: @omega_kai: Personally I believe Thanos' durability, hax and damage output makes him a very good match for Jiren along with his performance against more powerful beings than Jiren like Odin and Tyrant.

By that I assume you mean Darkseid TPs Jiren before Jiren overpowers him? One that needs Post Crisis Darkseid feats which aren't specified. Secondly, Darkseid's first move will likely be Omega Beams which Jiren will deflect and then counter attack against.
