Jiraiya vs Orochimaru

Rules:

1. This is Jiraiya before he was killed by Pain without any injuries; whereas this is Orochimaru before he was trapped in the Infinite Tsukuyomi without any injuries.
2. Jiraiya is using Sage Mode; whereas Orochimaru has body modifications done on him.
3. 1-on-1 death battle.
4. No interference or holding back.

Location:

In Amegakure, where Jiraiya met Pain.

ohhhhh good one. might have been done before but would be a great fight.

With sage mode i feel jiraiya has the advantage.

also in canon we have never seen orochimaru vs pain BUT we have seen this little kid bit from the games:

as just a rough idea.

i think jiraiya would take it in a super long fight.

Sage Mode would give Jiraiya the advantage. I could only see Orochimaru pulling a win if he had a significant amount of prep.

agreed. but even without prep, orochimaru has done some pretty impressive stuff.

Hell jiraiya himself was almost killed by 4 tail naruto and orochimaru openly engaged in combat with the 4 tails and lived. kishimoto has always been a bit back and fourth with the two's power.

jiraiya has a HUGE Amp with Sage mode, but orochimaru has a HUGE advantage with his multitude of jitsu's, including Edo tensei and his various forms of regeneration/immortality with his snake techniques.

i mean,you can literally put orochimaru down and he usually STILL finds a way to worm himself out of it, AND now he has his arms back. remember every time weve seen him between fighting the third hokage and undoing the Reaper death seal he has not had his OWN arms to use for his ninjutsu.

i feel it would be very close and far from a stomp, but jiraiya would probably come out on top.

@chair-sama: True enough for the most part. I feel Edo Tensei is definitely a technique that would tip the battle in Orochimaru's favor, but it would require preparation.

It's also fair to note that Orochimaru is extremely difficult to kill, which is ultimately what allowed him to do battle with 4 Tailed Naruto without sustaining any serious damage. Even 3 Tailed Naruto was able to blitz and take his arm off at the start of their battle, although Orochimaru did use the Body Replacement Technique at the last minute.

It wouldn't be completely one-sided, but I feel Sage Mode would give Jiraiya the edge here.

Not sure what's meant by the body modifications. This is a really close battle, I'm currently unsure who takes it.

Other than Frog Song what is Jiraiya doing to someone who took the 4 tails bijuu bomb beam? 4 tails bijuu bomb is >>> than Oodama Rasengan which is the most destructive Jutsu we've seen from Jiraiya. Oro had the better Genjutsu, an insane regen, edo tensei, anis more large scale attacks. Also seeing as what ultimately led to Jiraiya's downfall was getting his arm cut off and Oro had the Kusanagi he definitely has a way to put down P Sage. Other than Frog Song I don't see him doing it. Especially if Jiraiya doesn't use it from the jump

I think its implied that Oro is superior, but imo Jiraiya has better feats

Then again Jiraiya almost died when he tried to seal the 4 tails, while Oro fought the 4 tails casually and even tanked a bijuu bomb.

Jiraiya for a slim majority. With his multiple summons and maasive rasengan, he can continuously put oro down until his regen is taxed and he legit dies. SM is a huge factor that would make jiraiya too fast and strong in the long run.

Could go either way but I see Orochimaru winning in the end due to his vast amount of jutsu, difficulty to kill, and the fact he can summon Manda to counter Jiraiya's summons.

I think Orochimaru is probably superior.

Jariya has the advantage on power but Oro outlasts him and wins in the end.

It's a shame we never got to see Oro or Tsunade use their sage modes... Kabuto's dragon sage was dope.

Leaning towards Jiraiya

Orochimaru. Contending with KN4 while weakened and not using his strongest jutsu's is better than anything Jiraiya has done.

Sage Mode Jirayai blitz Orochimaru. KN4 fought Base Jirayai and Base Orochimaru. KN4 never fought SM Jirayai.

SM Jiraiya wins

edo tensei or not, jiraiya wins via frog song.

I don't know if Sage Mode Jiraiya could defeat the form of Orochimaru that Itach sealed with the Totsuka Blade. Full power Jiraiya vs Full power Orochimaru. Is a win for Orochimaru.

SM Jiraiya handily defeats Oro when he isn't at full power.

Jirayai. SM Jirayai is superior to 4 Tails Naruto who stalemated Orochimaru.

Jiraiya was actually seriously powerful. He would have killed Pain, all them together if they would have been alive, felt pain and actually could have died.

Orochimaru is more cunning and actually has lots more cards on his sleeves, but he is not as powerful as Jira in any day.

Spite much? No one knows exactly how strong these niggas were at any point in their lives or even an estimate for it

Jiraiya

Orochimaru was contantly fluctuating his power obviously. Whereas naruto was full power in 4 tails trying to kill him for almost the whole fight.. So We have no clue exactly how much orochimaru was holding back there.

I'll back Orochimaru but it will be a hard battle either way. Anyone reading also interested in CaV'ing this? Think it would be a cool debate.
