comparing a character who is apparently ancient and even godly in powers and capabilities, warping realities and can do anything any of the darkeners can do, and a character who has 1 hp and 1 attack, but cheats the rules of reality by attacking when he's not supose to, nullifying invincibility frames, poisons enemies, ignores defenses, and doesnt hold still for attacks

a being who lorefully breaks reality and aperantly cant actually die, but does get tired, and a being who breaks the reality of the 4th wall, and cant die as long as his opponent follows the rules.

so my bet is on a tie honestly. while yea Jevil is WAY esier to fight in comparison, thats them fighting us. but them, if neither can truly kill the other, whats the point?

though that being said, sans CAN die, and if he grows tired first, he WILL most likely die.

Jevil seems stronger but it's impossible to really know.

Jevil maybe stronger if they fight against each other because Sans has only 1 hp and Jevil has much more health and one of the main reasons why Sans is hard is because of the blue soul but Jevil is more open which could be why Jevil is easier but sans' attacks will be at as his strongest if the blue soul ACTUALLY work on Jevil.

Sans has to dodge all of Frisk's and/or Chara's slashes but Jevil can quickly fill an area with confusing patterns but sans have visible attacks and predictible but it's hard to dodge with Jevil it will take a while for the attack to kill Jevil even with Karmic Retribution and if Sans messes up ONCE rest in pepperonis

Feel like from in-universe Sans would win, but it's really hard to judge Undertale characters. Even as someone who defends using gameplay in debates, these characters only really work in the context of a game (hell, Sans is basically 'game mechanics' the character).

This should be extremely obvious for UT fans.

Jevil absolutely stomps.

While Sans may be a harder fight, Sans relies on abusing the in game battle system against the player.

While, on the other hand, Jevil CANNOT die.

He literally states in his fight that his body cannot be killed.

Eventually, Sans will die.

Jevil only got tired as fast as he did because of Hypnosis, plus Sans is known for getting tired himself in long battles.

Jevil Wins.

this is actually weird cause they are pretty similar. lets take a took on what they can do shall we?

JEVIL!!!

Attacks

The attacks he uses depend on how much health he has left or how tired he is, which can be split into 5 phases.

The first time he uses attacks in these phases, he uses them in order, and always says a particular voiceline before the attack.

If the party survives all of the attacks in a phase, Jevil begins to randomly use attacks from that pool of moves indefinitely until he is knocked into a later phase by the party. While in this state, Jevil says random voice lines from phase 5 with no correlation to the move he is about to perform.

Phase 1
  • "CHAOS, CHAOS, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN!"
    • Jevil teleports to random spots in the areas to the left and right the Bullet Board and quickly spews volleys of five spade bullets centered at the SOUL that advance linearly beyond the board until the attack ends.
  • "SHALL WE PLAY THE RING-AROUND?"
    • Ten large spade bullets appear around the Bullet Board in a circle and quickly start bounding, one after the other, in a spiral pattern, towards the center of the Bullet Board and beyond. They move toward the middle either clockwise or counterclockwise. The direction of the spiral remains the same throughout the attack in earlier phases, but can shift later in the fight. It is possible to dodge this attack by waiting in the corner of the Board between two spades, causing all of them to miss.
  • "MY HEARTS GO OUT TO ALL YOU SINNERS!"
    • Bombs with hearts in the center quickly fall to the level of the Bullet Board and detonate into four hearts in a square formation rotating at the center point, which fly towards the SOUL and go beyond. This continues until the attack ends.
  • "HA, HA. LET'S MAKE THE DEVILSKNIFE."
    • Four scythes oscillate around the center of the Bullet Board while rotating in either direction.
Phase 2
  • "PIIP PIIP, LET'S RIDE THE CAROUSEL GAME."
    • 3 rows of horses fly across the arena from the left to the right as if they were textures on a 3D cylinder. They all bob up and down according to a pattern, and their path skews up and down over time.
  • "HEE, HEE, HAVING FUN?! JOIN THE CLUB!"
    • Bombs with clubs in the center quickly fall to the level of the Bullet Board and explode into club bullets, which aim at the SOUL in a 3-way spread pattern and go beyond the board. This continues until the attack ends.
  • "HEARTS, DIAMONDS, I CAN DO ANYTHING!"
    • Diamonds rapidly spawn from the bottom of the screen in random locations and fly upwards - essentially a sped-up version of one of Rudinn's attacks.
  • "WHO KEEPS SPINNING THE WORLD AROUND?"
    • Spade bullets circle the screen and attack just as in phase 1. However, this attack lasts slightly longer, the spades move slightly faster, and the spiral may change direction at random.
Phase 3
  • "YOU KIDS ARE REALLY KEEPING UP!"
    • Just like the carousel attack from phase 2, except there are both horses and ducks, and their path does not skew. There are still only 3 rows of them, yet the horses and ducks go up and down at opposite intervals to eachother.
  • "NU-HA!! I NEVER HAD SUCH FUN, FUN!!"
    • Bombs with spades in the center fall quickly fall to the level of the Bullet Board and explode into 10 spade bullets that together shoot out evenly in all directions.
  • "A BEAUTY IS JOYING IN MY HEART!"
    • Clubs appear around the edges of the screen, shooting 3 individual 3-way spread bursts of bullets aimed at the SOUL. The three bursts aim and fire at the place where the SOUL was, so there appears to be a small amount of spread as they fly towards the SOUL. This is in essence a sped-up version of one of Clover's attacks.
  • "EVEN DEVILSKNIFE IS SMILING!"
    • Four scythes oscillate around the center of the board, just as in phase 1, but this time, a larger red scythe will appear either near the top of the board or the bottom, and fly horizontally across the screen, damaging the target if they are hit by it. It randomly starts at either top or bottom. It always alternates which side it is on, so if it starts at the top, the order is "top, bottom, top". It appears 4 times, but can only hit the SOUL the first 3 times before the attack ends.
Phase 4
  • "IT'S SO EXCITING... I CAN'T TAKE IT!"
    • Jevil teleports to random spots in the areas to the left and right of the Bullet Board, much quicker than the Phase 1 attack, and throws one diamond bullet aimed at the SOUL that advances linearly and will go beyond the board.
    • After this attack, combat flavor text changes to "CHAOS BOMB was prepared FOR YOU."
  • "THIS IS IT, BOISENGIRLS! SEE YA!"
    • Every previous version of the suit bombs (hearts, spades, clubs) spawns randomly, as well as a diamond bomb, which fires 3 diamond bullets aimed at the SOUL, one slightly slower than the other, forming a straight line.
  • "ENOUGH!! YOU KIDS TIRED ME UP!"
    • Jevil looks tired, and attacks with a much slower version of the diamond attack from phase 2, where diamonds spawn from below the arena and fly up. These diamonds give a very large amount of TP.
    • Combat flavor text changes to "Something terrible is coming...!"
  • "KIDDING! HERE'S MY FINAL CHAOS!"
    • The arena grows to fill the whole screen. Giant versions of the Devilsknife fall from the top of the screen, dealing damage if touched. If they touch the ground, they create a pillar of white light that may also damage the party members. These Devilsknives appear randomly along the screen until the party members survive long enough, then a set pattern falls going from the edges of the screen in, then another falls dead-center, followed by some more around the edges, and a final giant Devilsknife that fills the screen falls from the sky and ends the attack.
Phase 5
  • Repeats various attacks from all phases. Uses one of these lines:"PLEASE, ITS JUST A SIMPLE CHAOS."
    • "IT'S ALL TOO MUCH FUN!!!"
    • "THESE CURTAINS ARE REALLY ON FIRE!"
    • "THIS BODY CANNOT BE KILLED!"
    • "A CHAOS, CHAOS!"

Sp jevil has a ton of attacks and they are increasingly hard to evade or tank. now for sans, lets look at his attacks.

Sans

attacks

Soul Modes

Sans starts by using red mode, but frequently switches the protagonist's SOUL between red and blue mode.

Patterns

Sans often utilizes gravity to make his attacks require platforming skills, such as slamming the protagonist's SOUL against the walls of the bullet box and making the protagonist jump through gaps between bones and onto platforms. Sans uses regular and light blue attacks.

Sans immediately starts off the battle with his "strongest attack": an array of bones and beams. He is the only enemy in the game that has the first turn rather than the protagonist, which can catch the unwary off-guard.

Eventually, Sans will offer mercy; if accepted, he covers the entire Bullet Board with bones until the protagonist's HP is drained to 0. This results in the famous Game Over screen that is only seen on this occasion. If this happens, death is inevitable, although if the save file is hacked to get unlimited health Sans will continue to shrug but the bones will disappear and the game cannot progress without save reloading or other hacks.

After that, he starts to employ randomly cobbled attacks made of "bone stabs", "Gaster Blasters", and "bone slides". He will also start to use "Gaster Blasters" more frequently and aggressively, and will start using vertical "bone slides" rather than just the horizontal variation he uses during the first half. After a while, he does his biggest attack, which is a massive army of Gaster Blasters.

Strategy

To progress the fight, the protagonist must keep attacking Sans as checking reveals that he cannot dodge forever; performing any other action besides FIGHT will not progress the battle as his dialogue will not appear or advance. Also, skipping/missing the attacks will not progress the battle either.

After getting past his mercy offer, the fight then includes Sans constantly flickering the screen as he transitions through his attacks, uses his beams more often, and even attacks the protagonist as they navigate the menu (though menu attacks will only deplete the HP to 1). After enough turns, Sans will then perform an attack lasting roughly 40 seconds, launching some attacks shown previously at the protagonist, including a bevy of "Gaster Blasters", a large array of bones, and many slams against the Bullet Board's walls.

Once the protagonist survives his final attack, Sans will use his "special attack," which cannot do damage to the protagonist. Sans abstains from attacking and stalls for his turn, preventing the protagonist from accessing the menu in hopes of the protagonist becoming bored as time flies.

If one tries to move to the left before Sans falls asleep, he will wake up as his eye flashes blue/yellow, and the SOUL will be teleported back to the center of the bullet board. After several minutes and dialogue, Sans will eventually fall asleep, allowing the protagonist to push the Bullet Board towards the FIGHT button.

After pressing it, Sans will wake up and dodge the first attack, only to be struck down with another automatically ambushed attack, instantly finishing Sans off for good. Unlike most enemies, however, he starts to leak a red fluid of some sort, (which is theorized to be injected determination, ketchup, or even blood) then limps offscreen before dying, raising the protagonist's LOVE to 20 and HP to 99.

so IMO i believe jevil has more attacks but sans has more potency so ill give it to sans

@skeetvadr: Sure, jevil can't die, but he can be incapitated, you do exactly that if you use fight on him.

Sans has the resources and power to easily knock out jevil, and jevil's attacks may be unpredictable, put sans can teleport. So the odds are with sans.

Sans. Being able to cheat the rules in your reality is much more dangerous and deadly than being good at mastering those rules.
