Is Ghost Rider the most powerful Marvel character?

And if not, who can beat him?

He is nowhere close to being the most powerful. I could list many people who could beat him, but I'm too lazy. Much too lazy....

His stare only works on those who are guilty of wrong doing. His stare probably wouldn't work on most heroes.

Ugh it doesn't matter, it's been shown not to work on some heroes in Marvel already. For example didn't work on Hulk during WWH because Hulk was the one who had been wronged and the GR left the fight because he knew Hulk was the victim. GR doesn't just go around hitting anyone with his powers. He has a very specific target group. As far as I know Flash has never committed a crime bad enough that GR's stare would be useful.

Magik: she's almost invincible in Hell. She defeated Dr. Strange in her realm.

Dr Strange: It's pretty stupid Dr. Strange can't defeat him that one time when he can destroy cosmic level enemies with ease. Dr. Strange got nerfed so much that he jobbed to pretty much everyone nowadays.

I don't remember him having mental resistance, so couldn't characters like Monet, Jean Grey, Emma, or Xavier put him in a permanent coma?

Maybe so, but automatic wins are pretty boring. Regardless, it's not like Flash is going to stand still and let GR look into his eyes. Don't get me wrong I think GR is one of the best but I don't think he wins just destroys everyone ( very close to everyone tho)

I would say Ghost Rider is one of the weakest heroes with his own title, so in answer to your question, everybody who now has a title other than Ghost Rider could beat Ghost Rider.

If GR was WILLING to use it on Hulk, it would of worked. But he never bothered cause, like you said, he figured Hulk was the one who was wronged.

In a list of the most powerful Heroes that aren't skyfather level, copies of others (such as Beta Ray Bill), reality warpers (I mean really high degree ones, so the list would include people like SS or Thor) or cosmic level he would feature at around 13. If you included all those things he would be around about 25.

That alone means he can't use it against Sentry,Cap,Bane,Venom and so on. Hulk's not going to stand still long enough for Rider to just stare into his eyes. If he can't affect people on drugs then that must mean that the person needs to be mentally stable in order to be responsible for their actions (which Hulk is not) thus Hulk should not be affected by it.

I don't think it's a bad question at all.

I have not picked up a Ghost Rider comic since I heard a woman is now the Ghost Rider, so I can't comment on the new one. The Ghost Rider powered by Zadkiel was very powerful. Dr Strange described his level of power with the adjectives "godlike" and "limitless". He also said that version of Ghost Rider was capable of defeating WW Hulk, but would not get involved because the Illuminati, supposedly, were NOT innocent.

Having said that, I think even at that level of power, ones like Thor, The Silver Surfer and others in that category are capable of defeating Ghost Rider.

I know this thread is probably old but I was googling about Ghost Rider,saw this,and wanted to comment. Ghost Rider is indeed the most powerful hero on Marvel's Earth..as I recall reading such in an article by them once. I would also like to correct those who think they know how GR's powers work when they don't,like Enosis. Ghost Rider's PS does indeed work on the mentally unstable because it worked on Deadpool..and he was one that many debated whether or not it would work. It knocked Johnny out of GR form but it still worked on him

Ghost Rider's powers have been changed to where it isn't a matter of whether a person is "guilty" or "innocent" but rather have they sinned..and since all human beings have sinned,any mortal would be affected by it. It'd be questionable if it'd work on guys like Thor or whoever though since Thor has killed before..which means technically he's sinned but they would have to show GR giving him the PS for it to actually be confirmed of being able to work. They've shown his hellfire to not work on him but that was GR's 70's version..Times have changed since then. People shouldn't treat GR like he's not a threat though..Blaze had to stop the female GR from destroying all reality because reality would've been broken had she succeeded in killing Mephisto. I don't know why some of these people think the characters they mentioned can even hurt GR because they can't..Sure someone could warp him out of reality but that'd be stupid and simple BFR,but saying Ironman could beat Gr? LOL! There's nothing IM could even do to harm GR. Gr has incredible durability,and he heals as well. To those saying Doc strange could beat him..Umm did you not read vicious cycle? Strange blew him up on accident..

As to Thor or Odin vs GR..nothing they can really do to harm him either,since if Zadkiel who was a heavenly being couldn't hurt GR..neither can Thor or Odin. He's even toyed with the Avengers before back during his old version

Ghost Rider is incapable of dying as it even says that in his own comic. The only thing that can truly harm GR is a heavenly weapon..they updated GR to where he almost acts like Spawn now. This also depends on which GR you're talking about..Sure some of the characters mentioned might be able to beat Danny Ketch's version,but Johnny Blaze's version has done nothing but gotten stronger and stronger every time they bring him out. Sorry peeps but alot of you were pretty wrong on this..End result is GR may not be the strongest out there,but he is when it's in regards to Earth. Ghost Rider is no pushover

After many arguments with @cadencev2, about who's Marvel stronger hero. Thor or Ghost Rider. I came to the realization the other day that Ghost Rider is the more powerful of the 2. Well to be fair, Thor is actually set up to take Odin's place as king of Asgard, and Odin has said he's not at full potential, but when he does, he will be stronger than he is.

I think it goes like this.

1. Scarlet Witch
2. Captain Universe
3. Ghost Rider
4. Thor
5. Sentry
6. Hyperion
7. Hulk
8. Black Bolt
9. Rulk
10. Captain Marvel

Also that's not even counting Cosmic/space characters like Silver Surfer, Beta Ray Bill, Quasar, Gladiator, ect.

I do not believe Reality Warpers can touch GR since Zadkiel was a World Level Reality Warper and GR was Immune ti him.

GR is same league as Mephisto. So anyone who can beat Mephisto should beat GR at his best.

However! GR is IMMUNE to Non Magical, Psychics, and Reality Warping.

So the only way to harm him is through very powerful Magic.

Silver Surfer cannot harm him. Beta Ray Bill without the strict use of Storm Breaker cannot. Same with Thor without strict use of Mjonir. Green Phoenix like being cannot harm him. Neither could Dark Phoenix IMO.

In the end the best way to beat GR at his best, without picking sky fathers, and with no prep is....

1. Dormammu
2. Dr. Strange
3. Son of Satan
4. Classic Juggernaut
5. Man Thing

That is my list in order.

Zarathos. Without it, World War Hulk one-shotted Johnny.
