Is Gai lightspeed ?

Has guy in any of his feats been shown to be light speed?

I was thinking that the bending space thing could equal light speed but what do you guys think?

Is saying he is lightspeed a huge STRETCH?

No, probably relativistic though, you can argue for lightspeed reaction scaling from Naruto light fang feat.

It's a huge stretch, Guy is sub-relativistic/low relativistic at best based on this feat and it's still a huge stretch because bending space doesn't work like that in real life. We can only speculate what was author intention in that scene.

The/sqrt(1 - (v/c)^2) factor if you put it as part of mass, becomes the “relativistic mass”, but if you put it as part of energy, it’s just “relativistic” energy of a fast moving mass. So you can say “relativistic mass” can bend space-time. But you’ll immediately see that it bends space differently in different directions. This is weird, how can mass behave differently in different directions? Modern physicists prefer not to use “relativistic mass” at all, there’s just one mass - the rest mass.

So answering your question, no he is not Light speed, Bending space is a Relativistic Feat by real life standards.

Now, following the feats in the manga/anime, I would say that he can be placed as Relativistic as well.

Guy was stated by Sasuke(IIRC) as being Faster than Kakashi, this is kind of impressive, Kakashi was stated to be able to cut through Lightning Pre-Part 1.

This kind of makes sense, and is consistent with the series itself, in the manga, Kakashi managed to outran and intercept Kakuzu's Lightning Bolts.

And this feat can be scaled likely only to short burst movement so there is nothing contradicting this, Ninjas in Narutoverse already displayed feats where they hands moved faster than the enemy's eyesight, and we have no idea how far Kakashi was from Choji and Shikamaru, he could be pretty close and simple gave a fast jump and protect them :P

Lightnings in Naruto verse can reach ground in 1/1000th of a second.

Considering that those are heavy clouds lets take a low end of their height that is 1km above ground

One can say that according to Zetsu, Itachi wouldn't manage to dodge, but there are some things to considered here

• Itachi was sick
• Itachi was extremely fatigued cuz of the Amaterasu
• He was almost blind(Yes, we know that Sharingan is also connected to the user chakra so is a boost as well)
• He was pretty damaged cuz of the fight since his leg was hit by one of Sasuke's Shurikens.

And is pretty ironic Zetsu say that wouldn't have any dodging despite the fact that he was in proximity to Itachi and managed to avoid the Kirin in the last moment.

Itachi also was able to perceive the Lightning when Sasuke throw Kirin at him(based on his expression) and Sasuke was looking to him at this moment, if he really activated his Susano'o previously why Sasuke didn't noticed that ? Based on his expression, later when he saw that Itachi was alive, that was the first time that he ever saw the Susano'o.

After some chapters we saw Ay's speed which the later moved so fast that you can see the Lighting around his body but can't see him.

Although this is not a absolute proof that Ay is faster than Lightning, later he managed to moved so fast that escaped from Sasuke's perception.

Later, a heavily fatigued Sasuke used his Susano'o and almost managed to kill Kakashi, which according to the later stated that if wasn't his Kamui he wouldn't manage to dodge Sasuke's Arrows, which means that Sasuke's Arrow should surpass the Lightning Speed by a considerable margin.

And this was a heavily fatigued Sasuke pre-EMS and Pre-Rikudou's Chakra and Rinnegan Mastery, he still should had increased massively his speed after all those boosts.

Sasuke at EMS was fast enough to tag Sage Mode Madara, which is pretty impressive considering that previously Blind Madara blitzed Sage Mode Naruto who managed to dodge at point blank The Third Raikage maximum speed.

Madara later got innumerable boosts, Hashirama's Sage Chakra, One Rinnegan, the God Tree, Another Rinnegan, and later a Rinnesharingan which obviously increased his speed and reactions as a matter of fact he reacted to Kamui and Sage Minato's Teleportation pretty easily.

Not only that, but he managed to react and protected himself from Naruto before the later could land a hit on him, even though that they distance by visual is only a few meters.

Ifyou really think that this would be only a 2 or 3 times boost even though that in the past was stated(IIRC) that CS gives the user a 10x boost, well I can't do nothing to you though :P

Now talking about Guy, in his Night Guy he was stated to be have a 100 times boost at Night Guy.

I don't wanna play the hypocrite since I debate for both Naruto and DB and I refuse the fact that SSJ Goku should be FTL or FTL + cuz he was stated to have a 100 Times boost, but I'm just bringing things that I found interesting and unlike DBZ they aren't contradicted by future feats and looks consistent.

If we apply the logic that 100 times power= 100 times strength and speed, and accept the fact that both Guy and Kakashi can move at short burst or move their hands faster than lightning them

Madara was reacting against this, and according to the Databook, the EE gets stronger and faster each time that is used which means that Guy's speed was increasing each time.

The Kanji 空間 can be translated as Airspace or space, but, in the japanese grammar Airspace is used under specific contexts such as expressions related to aerodynamics and planes.

No and using science inside of fictional, clearly unrealistic manga's/comics that don't even attempt to follow real life rules for the most part is a silly procedure in the first place. Regardless, even with the "science" it'd only be relativistic, which is pretty consistent for Naruto God tiers though, so it might be accurate in this case.

From the perspective of Naruto speed depictions, you could argue that he is lightspeed. However, there are characters outside of the Narutoverse who are irrefutably faster than Gai and they haven't been shown bending space. Does that make them slower than light now?

In simpler terms, it's too difficult to say. And, considering Gai's speed feats before this form, it's safe to say he is below lightspeed all the while still being ridiculously fast. Again, all of this is down to Kishimoto. And unless he confirms it as lightspeed in the manga itself or in a databook (without hyperboles) OR he says it himself... it's too hard to tell. Not all manga speed depictions are the same.

My problem with the feat is that it implies that every character in the verse has to be visibly bending space to be going at “relativistic” speeds.
