@dianaallmighty: Thanos is not slow. His reaction time is very quick and he was hitting Hulk so fast Hulk couldn't even throw a punch.

He stops at Surtur. I don’t think Hela can beat Thanos, he kills her just like Loki.

Thanos with power stone would clear this btw.

@dianaallmighty: He really doesn't. Thanos is far faster than any human and has way quicker reaction times. Is he like super fast, no. But he's still fast and definitely faster than any average human.

My vote goes to Dr. Strange he showed that if Thanos didn't have the Gauntlet and stones he would've been able to give him a hell of a fight. This is base Thanos.

So I could see the Doc pulling a win through Sling ringing Thanos' limbs off. He already showed he was capable of dodging Thanos and restraining him. If Thanos didn't have the gems to dispel Stranges Illusions who knows how that fight would have gone. To me that was a better fight than Thanos vs Tony. Mainly because at nearly any point in time Strange could have potentially incapped or decapitated Thanos.

If he placed one on his arm at the right spo, no more gauntlet and the entire movie changes.

• 10. Doctor Strange - Based on his fight with Thanos who had 5 stones (including the reality stone) at his disposal, I'd say he stomps.
• 11. Hela (Asgard amp) - Hela.
• 12. Surtur (Eternal Flame amp) - Gets stomped.
• 13. Odin (composite, prime+movie feats) - Odin is featless.
• 14. Eson (can use stone to life-wipe) - Eson stomps.
• 15. Star Lord (Celestial powers) - Quill, eventually.
• 16. Ego - Gets stomped.
• 17. Dormammu - Gets utterly stomped.

Not in 1v1 combat, but he is tactical and has influence and a giant ship. He'd study Ego before taking him down (probably distract his avatar while one of the Black Order blow up his brain), not go in with just his two fists like Hulk. Strange or Ancient One would not be able to get to Thanos 1v1. Thanos only planned on going it alone with Gamora to Vormir. He was supposed to meet up with Maw on Titan, but Maw failed and died. Wakanda was weakened and distracted by Outriders. He doesn't usually fight alone, definitely not pre-gauntlet. The only one he can't beat at all without stones is Dormammu (who usually resides in the Dark Dimension). Surtur and Hela would be very hard to defeat, but Thanos does have a slim chance if he puts everything into it. Yet again, at the time of GOTG, Hela wasn't free and Surtur was weakened. At the time of GOTG, Thanos was the most powerful in physical power and influence. Korath technically wasn't wrong.

With no Infinity Stones, I don't even see how he's going to get close to the Ancient One in the Dark Dimension. She may not be able to put him down, but she can sure as hell strand him in another part of the dimension. Hell, she can probably replicate the "fall infinitely" tactic that Strange did to Loki.

If Strange doesn't have prep then he'll probably lose. I don't see him approaching the fight properly.

Actually if Strange already has knowledge on Thanos from their last fight, then yea he probably would take this. We've already seen him match Thanos with 3 gems.

@muvdcu: the sorcerers have no feats of opening up portals in solid objects. They only make portals in open space and only something in the middle of it as it closes gets chopped.

@rebake: I never said he would open one in Thanos. However with no stones Thanos is just a better Hulk and smarter but not much faster. He was actually shown to be much less agile. So Thanos has to physically attack hence the portals severing limbs.

@muvdcu: when Thanos beat up Hulk without letting Hulk touch him, he demonstrated better speed. In fact, he has better speed than Hulk in combat period. When Thanos got serious with Iron Man, Stark didn't touch him again and had no time to counter in cqc. Hulk has only been shown travel faster through jumping. Thanos is not going to just walk into portals (which take time to produce), especially since he's smart. He did pretty well on Titan despite going against three prep masters with prep time that got the jump on him while he was at his lowest point mentally. Strange can beat Thanos via BFR, but most of the time, I don't see Thanos getting killed without some broken spell like the ones from a magical item like the time stone. But death by portal? Unlikely. Thanos caught his magic sword, broke his magic shield, and dodged a spell that could melt rocks. Thanos can counter or evade more standard spells with his body.

Stops at Dormammu.

Also that's Armored Thanos, he is clearly more durable than we know. A being like Thanos wouldn't wear anything weaker than a Vibranium level metal. Even his underling Corvus had a spear which can pierce Vision.

Stops at Witch. She stopped him with 5 infinity stones while she was destroying another that's way out of base Thanos league. Not to mention he is susceptible to mind control.

Stops at 6 or 8.

Scarlet Witch has a special ability to destroy an infinity stone because her powers were directly coming from the infinity stone. Not because she was powerful, she couldn't even take on Midnight and Corvus at the same time.
