Pure feats a vastly more primitive armor could tank Thor's lightning and get charged. While we haven't see Ares's upper limit, the fact that this is Tony's most advanced armor that can tank a moonstrike/Infinity gauntlet blasts/ and fire means Ares can't do much with his lightning.

Anybody that says no is just in denial and dislikes Iron Man. That’s really where the lowballing and hate for Iron Man comes from. People don’t like him being portrayed at certain power levels so they just go off of their preconceived ideas and personal beliefs about where they want him to be.
