The Thing and Ironman's strengths are pretty even.
Ironman is slightly harder to hurt but Thing has greater stamina.
Thing is a much better fighter (close fighting) but Ironman comes in to his own at range.
Overall, the range of Ironman's powers and their power level would mean that he defeats the Thing but it would be a hard battle on both combatants as the Think is highly resourceful and creative.
Iron Man, he has projectiles and beams and crap and can fly. He'd have a better chance with the HulkBuster suit, or you could call it a Thing Buster, but that sounds painful.
This would be a lame fight. If Iron Man was looking to just kill the Thing he would not take a step on the ground. He would just shoot stuff at the thing till he was too tired to fight anymore.

He has beat down Hulk, The Thing has only won against the Gray Mr Fixit Hulk this is the weakest Hulk showing and even then The Thing was struggling to put him down

LMAO Thing isn't winning and he wasn't even comparable to Tony for a while until a recent upgrade. Iron Man turns Ben into Cocoa Pebbles. Possibly even with Sue helping him
