Iron Man vs Captain America

vs

Battle takes place in Times Square. Both in character but absolutely determined to put the other down. Win by death, knock out or incapacitation. Begin 20 feet apart and already suited up.

Stark. Flight and way too much firepower

Tony stomps.

Mk V never flew and only had repulsors.

Make it fair and give Tony his suit from Ironman 3. That suit breaks apart like it was held together with glue.

In all seriousness, I think Tony still has the edge with Mk V. That suit was able to tank Whiplash's whips for a decent time, which was able to slice a car in half cleanly. Cap would at least have to hit Tony with his shield about 50 times to break through it, and that's already being generous.

I missed that in the OP. In that case, Cap has a better chance. No tankbuster missles, flight, "House Party Protocol" and other gizmos to deal with. Cap could close the distance with his superior mobility. I think his only shot may be to close the distance and get a good shield strike on Tony's ark reactor and possibly disable him that way, if that'll even work. I'm still leaning towards giving Stark the majority

To elucidate...

Cap should win more often than not due to his shield and far superior combat skill. He can block and dodge repulsor blasts with some difficulty, but it really is over when he closes the gap. His physicals, fighting skill and an unbreakable shield would absolutely allow him to either rattle Tony's brains until he falls unconscious, or break through the suit, if he smashes it with the edge of his shield repeatedly. Tony has no way of out-fighting him and his only means of dispatching Cap is made irrelevant by 12lbs of indestructible metal.

This is dumb... and IMO a mismatch. Stark curb stomps.. Cap has a shield.... Tony has his entire body encased in some of the best armor....ever. What is cap gonna do, throw his shield at his armor and watch it do less then nothing to tony... Then what... Punch him? Pshh.... please.

Tony can either

A) Man handle him

B) Shoot him with his repulsors

Either is more then enough to subdue cap in what is essentially a fist fight with Ironman..

Iron Man wins.

I think people aren't realising which suit this is.

Steve.His shield can already deflect the repulsor beams from Tony's more powerful beams.Steve gets up close and goes Shield on Tony

Capt. A. his shield neutralizes explosions , so he would never get thrown away right ? Capt . A. can deflect gunshots, so he can deflect anything Tony fires at him, and whenever tony runs out of ammo / power he would have to land and be vulnerable ( he can't run fast either ).

I don't see any way Cap could get hurt too .

But because there's no rules Iron Man could literally build a nuke , and then come back weeks after and finish Capt .

Cap blocks all repulsor attacks while closing the gap. Then it's over for Tony. He can not compete with Cap in this armor without analyzing his fighting pattern

Cap can't hurt him either. This suit no-sold Whiplash's... whips... which were casually slicing through cars like a hot knife through butter.

Black Panther did the same in his solo movie with ease. I am pretty sure Cap can replicate that with the edge of his shield as well.

Also no flight.

Eh he didn't no sell those whips. They did severe damage. Watch their fight.

Cap has cut in half robots that were bulletproof and could withstand blows from Mjolnir that launched them 30 feet.

He has pierced deeply into Ultron who could easily tank minigun fire without a scratch. And could withstand a couple missiles from Mark 43 suit.

Cap has withstood multiple Repulsor blasts from Ultron who's blasters have better feats than this Iron Man armor or any before it.

He can definitely damage the exposed arc reactor which would incapacitate Iron Man.

Iron Man. I feel he was jobbing in Civil War, or couldn't fight at his best due to not thinking straight.

I feel like Cap can win this.

Cap probably wins

CW demonstrated that Cap was able to bust through Stark's suit in close quarters. Against this iteration, given that Cap is a significantly better fighter, and that he can already contend physically, he wins.

Cap because this is MK V. Tony's weapons are useless vs the shield and he loses CqC.
